Josh Allens development isnt the norm though

The Bears might be the worst situation for a player like Fields. I’m a big Justin fan. Been watching him since HS but like all young players, he has his weaknesses. He holds on to the ball too long and has poor pocket feel/ awareness. A lot of it is due to him being used to being the best athlete on the field and being greedy. He loves splash, deep plays. This would be an issue anywhere but the Bears with their abysmal online and hilariously poor Wr talent makes it the worst possible place for Fields. I’m not sure if he’s gonna be able to make it through a rebuild and improve. He needs some safety valve. Y’all need to try to trade for an elite wr or something because between Fields weaknesses and the teams offensive weaknesses, I’m not sure if I’ve seen a worse match. He can’t fix his deficiencies in a year. He definitely can’t behind one of the worst lines in football with no weapons. It’s an impossibility. You can’t even scheme out of this type of talent deficiency. This is looking problematic

ryan poles isn’t trading away any assets I think poles wants to see how fields plays this season if he doesn’t progress then the bears will either have Bryce young or cj stroud as their QB next season poles isn’t tied to fields so he can cut fields lose if he doesn’t think he is the future I personally think it’s to early to tell if fields is the guy or not I will wait till around week 15 to judge

Edit: never mind I seen the tweet i would rather take the patient approach It usually takes 3 years for a qb to fully develop I think people seen Andrew luck,Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert balling right away got people impatient when it comes to developing quarterbacks that’s why people was calling tua and josh Allen bust after 1 or 2 seasons I can name a lot of Hall of Fame quarterbacks who took a while to develop

His awareness seems to be shyt.

On that drive where they got stuffed at the goal line, he had 3 plays where his nonchalant decisiveness cost the Bears a challenge, and getting into the end zone... Twice.

The play where he got the first down on the sideline and casually steps out of bounds as he's reaching for it. They had to challenge it to get it overturned, but really, that shyt shouldn't have even been close to happening.

Then the play at the pylon. Just looked like he didn't dive quick enough with the angle he had. Defender was able to pull him down as he's reaching for the TD.

The goal line stuff would have been a TD if he hit the right hole.

All of this may seem nitpicky, but it goes with the criticism about his decision making being a tick too slow. He's an athletic big QB, these are the type of plays that he should be excelling at right now.

his awareness is non existent and his decision making is slow. it negates his athleticism
i dont know why its controversial to be concerned about these things in year 2

for how quick he is, he looks slow on the field
the guy threw a pass downfield after running 2 full yards past the LOS but its all coaching and the offensive line?

I agree but looking at the free agent list next season it’s not looking to good That’s why I’m hoping fields is the guy because if the bears are picking a QB next season that QB will have limited weapons as well unless somebody drop to the season round in the draft and the bears need more than one WRs

why is it controversial to say he needs to improve? he has been BAD, there is no way around that right now

you keep making these comments with no substance - can you dispute that he hasnt been good?

does that mean he cant get better? no, but we need to see some step taken ASAP

we have had terrible QB for like 100 years, we should be demanding more from the position, sick of this wait and see bullshyt - I want to see some results

Good compared to what, what are the expectations
Was he supposed to be rookie of the year last year, first two games he supposed to have 8-10 tds almost a thousand yards
