@OHSNAP!

What's the story behind this album?

I forgot who put it out (check discogs.com),but yeah those former soldiers had their songs on there, skimmed through some songs on YouTube but nothin special at all. Went double wood too

EDIT: Most Wanted Empire released that in 2001, that's Kane&Abel's label

Interesting. Never seen this album. Who released this?

Kane and Able got dropped because the feds were trying to link their cocaine connect (Richard Pena) to Master P. P was like :whoa: so he had to distance himself.

The story of BBTP was that they wanted more money. They had P on speaker phone and he was talking to someone and was like "fukk them nikkas for wanting more bread!":pacspit:

They heard it and became the Medicine Men. I believe this was a bit after the last TRU album Da Crime Family.
Correct

Think BBTP wasn't happy with the massive workload and pay, P wasn't happy with their output/quality in 99. But many (Fiend, Mystikal, Serv...) were loyal to KLC and the other 3, C and P surely fought about this. In the end, everyone suffered from that breakup. Imo P should have put out just one album per month in 98 and 99 instead of oversaturating their fanbase and overworking his talent. Twas too much. I'm sure P also sabotaged/blackballed them afterwards too

Yeah. Didn't Most Wanted release an album by Kane & Able with a Sole feature that had a video?
By the time I switched my tank charm for the CMR $ I couldn't even keep up.

I bought Da Crime Family but then they kept signing new cats like Lil Italy, Baby Soldier, DIG, QB, etc. So once Ghetto Postage came out I passed on it.

By the time they had the "new" 504 Boyz I was official off the tank

No Limit definitely opened the doors though. Found out about N.O./Baton Rouge artists that I never even would've known.

L.O.G., T.C (BG clone), Beelow, Sporty T/Wet Boyz, 6 Shot, Lac & Stone (RIP)

I can see it. I stayed loyal but Game Face in 01 was the last straw, P lost it. The 2000 albums from Snoop and C were excellent, P's and Silkk's were mediocre, 504 Boyz was okay, but in 2001 it was a wrap

Serv says P did things behond the scenes that helped them. I mean, on Kane & Abel's Most Wanted album, I could swear that is Ms. Peaches on "We Got Candy" and she was still all over No Limit albums at the time. P had Kane & Abel's Full Pack production on No Limit albums. C Murder featured on Big Ed's Special Forces.

Sure, I meant P was blackballin' BBTP. It was obvious that Big Ed, Serv, Steady Mobb'n & co weren't gonna do numbers without the tank. Kane & Abel had two minor hits (biting Cash Money's stuff), but that was it. Fiend should have been bigger. Mystikal had the rape case in 01/02 and went behind bars...shame

The guy saying “that’s right yall...” at the start? That track is so fire :damn: Mo is too smooth

Whoever that is pops up on the Down South Hustlers song "Way Down South," opening the track with "That's right ya'll" again and doing adlibs throughout. Playing that CD for the first time in a while and recognized him right off, but still don't know who the hell he is as only the rapper (Joe Blakk) and Tre-8 on the chorus are credited for vocals.

The P and UGK joint "Playaz from the South" from Down South Hustlers is fire. My God.

crazy thing was, I think until 01-02 Silkk and P kept going at least gold, it was a wild run

They were actually dope too decent.

The italicized nikkas had a love affair with CMR, creating entire albums dissing them.

The mixing and mastering on TRU 2 Da Game is HORRID! :mjlol: @OHSNAP!

How long was Tobin Costen Master P's manager? Because I notice he was also helping out King George in the 90s after he fell out with P.

Did P ever go back out to the bay after he setup shop back in the N.O.?

Yessir.

Had a group called the Wet Boys and was apart of that secret P financed album Da Wild Boyz which was nothing but CMR diss tracks.

Got killed in his FEMA mobile home with a chopper.

IIRC Costen left along with KG in early 96 or so

NL headquarters remained in NO, then Baton Rouge permanently from 96 on. P did have a house and probably an office in the Bay tho, not just for business reasons, his mom lived there
