Well P and BBTP (mostly KL personally) had a huge fallout in mid-99. BBTP wanted more money, P told them to stay humble. Serv told this in an interview, it's on YT

besides that, BBTP and the NL artists felt that P didn't focus on the music enough in 99, instead spending alot of time on No Limit Sports, No Limit Films, the action figures, pro wrestling, tryouts for the NBA etc

Fiend, Serv, Mystikal all would have stayed on NL, but P cut them off and felt betrayed (all of them plus Mia being loyal to BBTP and probably not wanting to cut ties completely. P was disappointed with Street Life's album sales and the general downward spiral of NLR in mid-99). You have to remember P was getting attacked by alot of jealous industry cats, from Pastor Troy to Yukmouth to Cash Money to Pimp C to C-Bo etc. And now he felt BBTP and many of his artists are also attacking him while he made every single one of them rich, and playing the immoral dirty music industry like a fiddle, proving to be a real pioneer for black folks to get their welldeserved dinero and take care of their business the right way

C still did some collabos with Big Ed, Fiend afterwards, but P made it a point to not work with em again

Shame how things turned out

Its a shame, P should of just had the roster of the best spitters (Mac, Mia, TRU,Fiend, Mystikal, Soulja Slim etc) and paid BBTP accordingly and just focused on dominating the music game with more time in between releases.They would of been on locked for even more years

Does anybody have any link/info to when P said he would retire in 98? what was the reason behind this? I was 14 then and just left the USA so never heard about this around that time i got my hands on MP Da last don in the uk and it was the clean version

This thread made me dust off some of my old CDs, and something is driving me crazy. Anyone know who the guy is singing background and doing ad libs during the song "Playa From Around the Way" on the Ice Cream Man album? The booklet says it only features P, Silkk, and Mo B dikk but it's not them. Dude is funnier than hell.
