this might be silkk's best song, this nikka was talking! Carlos laced this beat and P kilt the hook. @No Hook @JustCKing @OHSNAP!

Don't sound like a Carlos beat at all! Cool junt, but that album had so much hot shyt like Mr, I Represent n I Ain't Takin' No Shorts. Some of NL's best production ever (CI2DG too, P took care of Silkk)

why do you think Silkk was on Ghetto D and ICM a lot compared to C and why C wasn't really featured until '97 @JustCKing

I think Silk and Fiend were the best on these type of songs, "struggle pain" concept songs.
yeah "There is One...." had a lot of dope cuts like that, I'm sure his second album did too but I don't play that that much. Silkk had a lot of introspection of someone growing up in the hood as a bystander or civilian not in street life.

Silkk was more polished in terms of potential for stardom. C-Murder was too raw for TV. All if his features were far more gutter than Silkk's or even P's. You could throw Silkk on "Gangsta's Need Love Too" and still have a pretty PG song. You could put Silkk on "Bourbans and Lacs" and still keep that laid back, chill vibe.

C-Murder was that "make em bleed, ride on my enemies, die for the homies" and "feel my pain" type artist. '97 C-Murder was definitely too raw. Pre 1997, C-Murder was still developing his style.

When C attempted to do something that was more commercial or just love songs, it tended to be forced.

C was in n out of trouble before 97 (Tru 2 Da Game was basically his fresh new start in the rap game) while Silkk focused on his rap career at all times

Yeah I can see that, silkk was the ladies man, even though I know many women who liked C too. It's funny you mention it, because on his debut I don't think C had any songs that really catered to women. Just gangsta shyt and introspection of being in the street, I always wondered if C was in the streets in the bay, someone told me he sucked at rapping at first lol I wouldn't go that far but there is a difference from him on Silkk's debut to Life Insurance.
