Especially when Romeo said he can't believe he sells more records than Michael Jackson so I was like![]()
At the age of 10... It's a true lie.. Because Michael Jackson didn't have a record at 10..

P really might be THE most influential business mogul in hip hop, No Limit Sports, movies, gear, 80/20 distribution, putting the N.O. on the map was spearheaded through him.

He is, but it is downplayed. A lot of the credit that is attributed to Jay Z in terms of business, Master P actually pioneered and did first and he was arguably more successful at it. Jay Z spent years trying to make Memphis Bleek his successor. P had Silkk. Jay Z had Roc-A-Fella, but besides Jay himself only Kanye was super successful. Meanwhile, P had Silkk, Mystikal and then the acquisition of Snoop. Jay Z has Roc Nation, P had No Limit Sports. The only area where Jay did it bigger than P is clothing.
As crazy as it sounds now, both P and Jay Z were distributed by Priority in 1996. P stayed with Priority and was super successful where Jay moved on to Def Jam, which is where he blew up.
I respect both, but given where they started at, I respect P more. Breh put his brothers in the game and even put his son on and his other children in. He had his cousins on as well. He had his own wife out here with an album. P had his own in house production and built an empire without relying on super producers.
@Marlo Barksdale I feel like you did too much nitpicking on P in this thread, it comes off as haterish.
Just watching now, so C got caught on camera shooting at somebody in the club???He ain’t never getting out of prison. How the hell does he expect people to believe he didn’t do that shyt.
because he’s in jail for murder isn’t he? Also I think someone else even admitted to the murder of the person he’s in jail for.
To be fair P was biting from the beginning.Sad part I think part of his problem was trying to keep up with current times too much. Whatever was hot he tried to bite which is what helped make him look so corny.
I respect what your saying but to be fair all these moguls are without flaws or controversy. Folks have complained master p not being all the way an angel business wise with the artists HOWEVER Master P is a genius and I love his grind man.He is, but it is downplayed. Don't forget DeF Jam was the blue print when it came to small label like def Jam that got into clothes, film, comedy (def Jam) , management, comedy, film etc...Yea i think P influenced Jay Z to do better. To me what saved Jay Z was when he retired and did the married life thing with beyonce. Had Jay-Z stayed in the game he would have been a victim of 50 Cent.. Jay waited til 50 died down then came back..
When i look back at No Limit they kind of ruined themselves. After 23 albums in 1998 they should had got more producers.. He shouldn't have allowed people to leave the tank.. Birdman forced Juvenile to honor his contract. Kane and Abel, Mac, C Murder going to jail was the nail in the coffin..
