Yep. Birm saying to expect a few more that are still buried on the depth chart at the end of spring. Made sense for Dallan tho, he couldn’t wait until he’s a senior to become a full time starter.

This is all on Day. Should have let him go earlier when he knew that Dallan wasn’t going to get much PT because of the depth. Wish him the best on his next stop.

This is 2024. If you’re buried on the depth chart at a place like OSU, you have options elsewhere. Dallan wasn’t playing ahead of Tre. He could have maybe played against Pedo St last year, otherwise when was he gonna play a lot?

• Will Howard has really made a jump over the last 1-2 weeks. He’s getting more comfortable with the offense, getting into a rhythm with the receivers, and taking more command. His athleticism and ability to run, not just physically run, but make the right reads and find the creases, is going to be valuable. He’s tough, he’s gritty, he’s battle-tested, he’s athletic, and he’s got a high football IQ. Would be surprised if he’s not the guy
• Per one source, Julian Sayin has the most arm talent of any QB on the roster. He’s looked fantastic throwing it this spring but he’s got a lot to learn in regards to being QB1. That’s for more of a 2025 discussion but he’s the real deal
• Quinshon Judkins has been “really good”. One source said he’s a top 5 player on the team. “That’s going to be a really dangerous backfield”.
• Everything you hear about Jeremiah Smith is true. He’s the real deal and will be an instant impact guy. Doesn’t mean that others aren’t having good springs but Smith is the guy I literally hear about every time I ask someone.
• The feeling is definitely better about the OL than back in January. Josh Fryar and Tegra Tshabola have both taken steps forward at RT. The staff really likes what’s they’ve seen at RG from Luke Montgomery and his athleticism there in this offense to pull and get out to the second level is key. Seth McLaughlin is comfortable now within the system too and playing well. Carson Hinzman is still in the mix and they feel better about having 8 guys who can start. Not sure they go to the spring portal unless there’s a no brainer option that is an automatic starter.
• Will Kacmarek is “such an underrated addition”, per a source. “Depth, has played a lot of snaps, willing blocker. He’s going to be big for us and most fans won’t even realize it because it’s nothing flashy”.
• A name I’ve heard a bunch throughout the winter and spring is Kayden McDonald. Feel like he hasn’t been mentioned publicly that much but I think he’s going to be impactful in the rotation this season
• I haven’t gotten any specifics about linebacker but there seems to be a quiet confidence anytime I’ve asked about it. Between Sonny Styles, CJ Hicks, Gabe Powers, and Cody Simon it seems the staff is confident about what they have
• Caleb Downs is “an absolute stud. Top 3 player on the team and may not be 2 or 3. Completely changed the way we are able to operate because of how good he is.”

It’s the fukking spring.

Yall must be the first team in the history of college football that has it all figured out in the spring. Now.. you can say ‘we don’t have it all figured out’ but I haven’t read a single concern in those updates.

As for Georgia being your only competition this season.. try winning the Big Ten first. Keep thinkin shyts sweet in Ann Arbor. I love it.
