jimmy could potentially risk $86M this season if he doesn't take the deal the bulls have offered him.

I know he could potentially get more as an UFA, but you're an idiot to risk generation wealth being offered you right now.

because your lifestyle as a cat with $90M guarunteed likely isn't much different than having potentially $120M in the future.

Jimmy would make more money over the next 5 years by taking the QO, and signing a max next summer rather than signing the 5 year max now

I think its very much in play he could take the QO ... :francis:

that's still a risk. a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. especially when the stakes are this high.

if he gets injured or plays like 13/14 next season cuz he's under so much pressure, then he'd take a major L.

personally, I wouldn't risk it. but maybe he will.

Jimmy the same guy who turned down the deal last season to "bet on himself"

If he wants out he can bet on himself again. Sure he could get injured but that didn't seem to cross his mind last season.

So I don't put it past the dude to take the QO.

jimmy's agent probably gets like 10% of whatever deal he signs. you think his agent is about risking a damn near $10M pay day????? the way cats are getting injured in the NBA these days, I wouldn't take the risk two years in a row.

He could also get insurance in case of injury. It was an article I read today that wondered would having a front row seat to seeing Rose sign a max deal then get hurt have any bearing on him taking the max instead of waiting another year. Also mentioned that Greg Monroe did,the same thing so while its not the norm somebody else just did it.

david aldridge just said on NBATV that because the bulls offered the full 5 year max qualifying offer, that other teams cannot offer him a short term deal as a RFA. they can offer him a 3 year deal, but that means he still won't be eligable to get out in 2016 to get a super max deal.
