The last quarter of the film prevented it from being a classic...but a good movie and legendary villian.

:ooh: I won't even ask how.

Anton killed her. Remember when Woody Harrellson was bleedin over the floor and Anton picked his feet up to avoid the blood? He checked his boots again after leaving the house :mjpls:

:ohhh: Of all the times I've seen this, I never picked up on that. I always thought checking his shoes to see if he stepped in some shyt :ld: :manny:

Dope movie tho. I've been meaning to check out There Will Be Blood, is it worth it?

The decision to do this is precisely why the film is so special.

A final shootout would've been corny and cliched.

What's so great about Brolin's character getting killed out of the blue is it doesn't glamorise it. It shows how matter of fact death is in this world. The whole film is essentially about death/our mortality. Like the old man says at the end "You can't stop what's coming".

This is what elevates No Country over your run of the mill Hollywood thrillers.

:ohhh:

I just saw this last week(I know I'm late) I felt like lot of you guys abou the ending. Dope movie but the end was offputting. Then I read a breakdown that put the whole movie in perspective for me. Now I absolutely love this movie, I say it's just above There will be Blood for me

This was a perfect movie except for how they ended Llewelyn's story. It was some of the most anti-climactic bullshyt I have ever seen in film.
Staying true to the novel is no excuse for taking the "hero" of the film out like a fukking afterthought.

Don't try to sell me realism in a movie that features a villain straight out of a fukking Roger Moore Bond flick. The way they ended Llewelyn was a mistake on the Coen Brothers part plain and simple.
