The data is clear, @CrimsonTider is arguing just to argue at this point.
In his defense though, the small increase will be more than enough for many to object. We simply aren’t rational actors, and negativity always outweighs the positive… a few bad apples and what not.
:manny:

I would like to see a racial breakdown, because I believe leaving it in the hands of judges could lead to worse outcomes for black men. :francis:
How am I arguing just to argue.

That paragraph is not a minor side note like @Rhakim said

Violent offenders need to be separated from society. That’s always been my point. The fact that repeat offenders are allowed to keep terrorizing community is a huge problem that all “criminal justice reform” ignores so that they can highlight someone with a misdemeanor didn’t get arrested again

People committing murder, manslaughter, robbery and felony assault being released backed into the neighborhoods where all the victims and trauma remains is not good for society and affects black communities more than others

@Rhakim you better include a TLDR if you’re expecting a response from me. I’m not reading all of that

Unfortunately, the tough part is that the algorithm-based options are as or more biased than the judges:

This is new to me and nasty.

Just say you have no empathy for anyone accused of a crime and be honest. You’re not stupid. You know very well these laws are not about violent offenders.
Unless they are on the Alabama Crimson Tide football team and a star on the men’s basketball team when they have a good team.

Here's a good introductory book on the issue, written by a data scientist who was right in the middle of several of these issues:

It’s a debate because criminal justice in this country focuses to much on the criminals and not on the victims and trauma

:dahell:

We incarcerate more people than any other nation on Earth, and a larger proportion of our population than any other nation on Earth. We have longer sentences than any other developed country and violate the rights of prisoners more than almost all of them. We were the last developed nation to still be executing people for crimes they committed as juveniles, the last developed nation to give life imprisonment without parole for juveniles. Multiple studies have shown that in many Black communities, so many people are incarcerated that incarcerating more people actually increases crime rather than decreasing it, because it destroys the fabric of the community.

You live in fukking ALABAMA. That's the national epicenter of violating the rights of Black people when they're accused of crimes. And you still say idiotic shyt like this?

Please read a damn book if you're too dense to have figured this out from life. Black lawyer details hundreds of cases where people's entire lives are destroyed because our justice system doesn't give a shyt about poor black defendants even when they're just children, and this book is based on BAMA.

I don’t live in Alabama. I grew up there.

I told you to post a TLDR if you want a response from me

Save that TLDR shyt for the Locker Room.

You're smart enough to make substantive arguments, if you're not ready to read contrasting arguments then stop involving yourself in these debates

The fact that you need a TLDR for a 9-sentence comment explains why you have such shytty reactionary positions. :mjlol:

Why do people who refuse to do even the slightest work to educate themselves on issues think their position on those issues should matter to anyone else? :why:

I’m fine with reading arguments. I’m not reading massive walls of text.

My objection to the article has not changed nor has it been challenged by any of you

* I wrote a concise 1-paragraph, 4-sentence argument.

* Then a line making fun of you for being from Alabama and yet not knowing that already.

* Followed by 2 sentences recommending a book.

How the fukk do you have the time to write 74,000 comments but can't read? This is why you don't know shyt. :gucci:

Like I said before, @CrimsonTider doesn't read anything unless it has to do with Alabama football or The Shade Room-like content. He isn't an intellectually curious person which is why he holds reactionary positions.

He won't change his ways and won't try to, which isn't that dissimilar from a Trump supporter.

Whats fukked is that is how most Americans tend to view these issues.
