Just saw some of the press conference.

I have NEVER seen the police department show such respect and admiration for a slain rapper:wow: they really handled that with class and put much respect on Nipsey’s name
When dude read the letter and was saying how much he was looking forward to having that meeting with Nip :mjcry:

Everywhere...You never there.
I feel you and undertand where you’re coming from.
Personally, bangers can’t police anybody, they’re low-life’s. Nip got a false sense of security thinking his homies can get his back 247

In theory that’s true , in reality the “policing” elements come from getting thrown off the set and/or murked.

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised, as some are hinting at, as my first post suggested, that there is some disconnect within the gang .

Somethings just not adding up .

To me that is the 2nd best theory. Criminal gangs thrive on 2 things: sense of a fraternal order and generating money through illegal means. If Nipsey tried to end the cycle of recruitment (sense of fraternal order) that means the higher ups in the Rollin' 60s could lose members and ways to generate revenue.

It's illogical to me when considering the people involved inevitably will be killed themselves. You'd need truly radical beliefs to subject yourself to that certain okie doke. Also, Nipsey has the potential to become a sort of martyr, which if you wanted to stunt his influence would be quite problematic.

who's respected or not is has nothing to do with the scenario :stopitslime: im referring to the actually shooting/aftermath. unfortunately NOBODY fired back at the shytty dude. if one of the cats that were shot, but not killed, was able to fire back, they would be hailed as a real one. Troy got hit twice & had the wherewithal to gather himself & get to action. If that couldve happened in Nipsey's case, he might still be alive :mjcry:
Misread what you were referring to. Apologies. Agreed. Nipsey wasn't moving correctly nor surrounding himself with people on whom his life could depend in matters of grave urgency, which ultimately led to his untimely death.

Reality of the situation is, if it it’s indeed true that Nipsey and his people told his killer to “leave you’re name isn’t good here” then Nip was the one that opened himself to harms way, the community can’t do nothing about it.
When he said that he immediately put himself into un-needed hood politics.
He just needed better protection, actual security not his “homies” that didn’t even have weapons to bust back.
People at Nipsey’s type of fame need to get better protection if they’re doing business at at-risk areas. It’s sad but necessary.
This is why its crucial us as black people completely denounce this street shyt once and for all fuk a code. Apparently the killer is a snitch and you know how that be the equivalent to a pedophile in the street so he was probably called out in the worse way. But man nip you a successful millionaire entrepreneur why could you not let that go and focus on what really matters :mjcry:

yea this one is different for me. I didn't feel this kinda personal loss and grief when pimp c, Dilla, Prodigy etc. left. These were some respectable figures

My question is that if this guy killed more than 1 person how isn't he being constantly monitored?

He has a trend to kill and betray others, why wouldn't he have constant supervise?
:what:
What are you even talking about?

Monitored by whom? He either did his bids or the police don't have nothing on him.

Nip's approach to community is so reminiscent of the Panthers. Feeding the community, providing jobs and safe spaces, etc. And he was planning for more. I bet he was looking into urban farming and other things the Panthers introduced to inner cities.

It really was reminiscent of the Panthers ... he was moving toward revolutionizing the hood using a template that coulda been applied across America ... Someone of that stature can NOT be left out there like that regardless of “comfort level”
...

But also remember , the Panthers were also people’s champs but they had members on deck who were adept at paramilitary tactics and tools were also on deck.
