I been legit sad but i aint the type of nikka to shed tears about anything. Two reasons for this. The biggest one is that's his comfort zone. He was literally raised from that lot. His entire history is based from there. The 2nd reason is because of his entire history was based from that lot, the good as well the bad surfaced there where they had raids in the past and people arrested for stockpile of guns. They lost their original store because of having guns at their spot. So now it's a gun free zone. But, Nip's status was so high, only a FOOL would of dared anyway.

Remember when Omar got gotten on The Wire? Writer David Simon, a longtime reporter, was making the point that legendary street people got gotten every day over meaningless low level shyt. And their deaths are nearly never as big as the lives they lived. The streets don’t care. Simon witnessed it dozens of times as a reporter.

We probably know people close to us who died in similar ways. I had a cousin who was a legend in the streets who lost his life over a chain from a random nikka. For months my fam looked for conspiracies. Tried to tie it to groups they could get back at. In the end there was nothing there.

Reality of the situation is, if it it’s indeed true that Nipsey and his people told his killer to “leave you’re name isn’t good here” then Nip was the one that opened himself to harms way, the community can’t do nothing about it.
When he said that he immediately put himself into un-needed hood politics.
He just needed better protection, actual security not his “homies” that didn’t even have weapons to bust back.
People at Nipsey’s type of fame need to get better protection if they’re doing business at at-risk areas. It’s sad but necessary.
