Aight-- so here are the differences,
The $20 controller is smooth, like plastic smooth. It can be slippery especially in games like mario where you'll let go of one hand and flick your wrist. The pro controller has somewhat of a grip on it, therefore it's more likely to stay in your hands. The L and R button click. It has an audible click/snap noise when you push the button. So while your spouse is laying in bed, and your playing mario or zelda, that clicking and shyt is likely make someone mad. The pro controller doesnt make any noise.
I'll probably have to do a hand holding tutorial to show what I mean. but with the pro controller is ergonomically designed where if you just rest your hands, your fingers fall where the buttons lay. the L and R trigger buttons are easy to access and able to be pressed with precision. I dont mash buttons. Fighting games, mario..I hit the buttons like a piano player, hitting the keys correctly. Whether its a long press, short tap, have to hold something down and press another. The ZL and ZR have a very long throw. Its a deep ass button. I dont know if theres any games where you have to short tap or long press the ZL or ZR but god damn it has some play in it, mad wiggle room.
The analog sticks are nice, and I like the d-pad.
$20 is a gamble, especially if you like comfort. I'll have to make a longer video showing the ergo-set up of this controller. The triggers are tough, thats where they fukked up. For $20 i'll let the kids play with it, but they are probably wise enough to continue using the pro controller.
I dont believe this controller will be your friend come smash time, or for street fighter, anything that requires real precision, however it may be better than the joycons.
I say if you have a 50% off coupon on ebay or amazon, get it for $10
Oh yea, the charging cord and port are completely different. its not usb-c and its not micro usb like android phones...its kind of weird.
the pro controller has a nice weight to it, the $20 has no significance.
