The 3DS section in the last direct was a clear sign that they're starting to wind down development of 3DS software. And if Pokemon Switch does come out this year, it'll close the clamp shell.
It had a great run despite the rocky start but we gotta move on, playing on a 240p screen ain't the wave no more.
But hey at least the 3DS got a 2D Metroid in the end.
