At the same time they could more than double their sales. At some point even with the money they give up they're selling so many more copies that it doesn't matter anymore.
Nintendo's loyal customers regardless of how they may pretend online would be more than willing to buy a Sony console to get Nintendo home console games. On top of that they'll get sales from Sony gamers that would have bought their games if they were available on a console they own.
I mean look at them. They're basically giving up on a traditional home console anyway so what damage is putting their games where the largest audience can get them gonna really do?

Threre is a reason handheld sales have dropped off considerably. Nobody wants to carry around an extra device to go along with their phone.
This device can't be more than $250. Anything above that and it will be damn near DOA.

im glad it's a handheld. nintendo can focus on making one version of every game in its library, and if it differentiates itself enough, developers will have the same incentive to make games for it that they had for gameboy and DS.
