Do you REALLY need a Pro controller? I play in handheld mode most of the time, but the SNK classic fighters need a better D-Pad to pull off moves, Platoon/ARMS sound like they benefit from motion controls from the Pro, and Super Mario Odyssey seems adamant on pushing motion controls and using the split joycon on you. I want one, but that $70 price tag is rather steep.

I dont care for NFC and Amiibo shyt, so I can do without those

That labo shyt looks like its gonna be huge...

Probably a fad like run but that depends on how much content Nintendo provides. I'm interested in any case. I work with kids and something like this can be extremely helpful in providing a fun, educational environment.

If you have an xbone or ps4, there are controller adapters for like 20 on amazon, saving you around 50 bucks on the pro...not sure how well they work, but might be worth a look

The joy-con have gyro aiming for Splatoon 2 so you're good there. Arms is better with button controls 100%. The motion controls in Odyssey are mostly useless although the homing throw is missed when playing with buttons.

Fighters are tough on the split d pad I agree with that. There are cheaper solutions than the pro though if you're worried about that

40 hours of battery life alone makes the Pro Controller worth it, plus you can even play with it in portable mode. Games like Mario, Arms, Zelda should be experienced in TV mode though imo.

I don't think you truly need the pro controller, but I'm gonna see if I can go pick one up this weekend. I'm almost certain you may need it for the best experience when it comes to smash.

Splatoon 2 people during the hands on said you would need the pro controller for the game, but that was completely false. Game is comfortable for all play styles. Pro is just strongly recommended because a pretty good controller just from my experience using it.

Randomly played Nintendo Switch demo at best buy today. Was like a c*nt's hair away from impulse buying one. I'm trying to wait until tax return. Y'all weren't lying, that shyt is sweet. I just was playing on the TV and not the portable.

Got a question for the brehs:

I’m looking at Mario + Rabbids and Splatoon 2. After getting paid and handling bills, I’ve got enough for just one (I’ll buy the other next paycheck)

Some on the Internet say M+R is mini XCOM but drags some way through the game and is somewhat of a chore to finish. For Splatoon, they said Nintendo’s shytty online is a major buzz kill.

I love SRPGs which M+R is (I was gonna buy it when I got my Switch but got BoTW and Odyssey) , and Splatoon could fulfill that shooter craving when I’m playing my Switch.
