So is it about the tech or the games? :jbhmm:

The importance of what makes a console worth buying seems to change with whatever current situation is going on with a particular platform.

Nope.

The switch 2 is basically a switch pro/elite (enthusiasts version) for those that already own a switch. Infact overall the features feel more like a PS5 pro than the original switch.

Y'all (Since you chimed in I assume you felt this way) wanted a PS5pro for 60fps and higher resolution, and was willing to pay 700.00 for it and zero issues with it.

Same with these remakes and paid upgrades, y'all been championing them since PS4.

I've long accepted the Sony standard. :yeshrug:

Once dudes ran out bought PS5 pro's I was like :yeshrug: dudes were accepting buying stands separately and disc drive separately. I accepted that Sony stans also didn't care about pricing if it was a premium version or upgrade of something they wanted. Which, hey fair enough.

So seeing the same dudes try and complain about Nintendo is hilarious to me.

Just be consistent. :manny:

it is not the "enthusiast" version because you can't play switch 2 games on a switch 1, wtf are you talking about :dead:

My point is that the switch 2 is just an enhanced switch 1. If your a switch enthusiasts the switch 2 is everything you loved about the switch and some.

Would be applicable if you could do what you can do on the switch 2, on the 1.

this is like saying the ps5 is an enhanced ps4. no one thinks about new consoles in that fashion.

how is this such a hard concept. The pro is the ps5, but more expensive and better performance. Only a person who wants the best version of a ps5 will buy it, as such a enthusiast.

The switch 2 is the switch 2. It is not a better switch 1 because they cannot play the same titles.

This isn't a hard thing to follow breh. with your logic any new console is the enthusiast version which is obviously nonsense to any one with a brain.

I'd love to get into the Nintendo ecosystem again after so many years, but $80 a pop is crazy
The Switch 1 is still a decent system. Games still overpriced though, it’s a Nintendo staple. They have buy one get one 30% off vouchers baked into the digital store so thats something. But you can get the OLED and be good for at least 3-4 years. Some of the later years you can tell developers gave up on trying to run games well though.

The switch 2 is basically a switch pro/elite (enthusiasts version) for those that already own a switch. Infact overall the features feel more like a PS5 pro than the original switch.

When yall start worrying about us and trying to make these light comparisons yall end up with stretched logic. Just buy the system and stop worrying about us, if you’re a fan you’re a fan. This is the thing about the PS5 Pro… there’s actual user benefit to having the system. The price was ridiculous and the upscaling is half baked.. but Sony has, over the course of the PS5, acknowledged the things that gamers complain about and show a willingness to do the same with the upscaling. As well, there will not be any PS5 Pro exclusive games, so already there the comparison is dead.

They went from little to no game sales to having more sales than the Steam store. They added games on demand after seeing Xbox gamers appreciate GamePass. They added Discord and Spotify to the system and improved its social services. The PS5 tries actively to be the best system it can be. It’s not the same ecosystem. Nintendo don’t give a shyt about none of that. You gon hit what we got, any major issues we’ll address it next system maybe eat a dikk. Joycons still drifting like shyt. The Online is $20 or whatever, we’ll add the shyt we feel like adding and that’s it. It’s not the same ecosystem..

Plus we had a whole Switch with OLED and they went backwards. So when they announce the Switch 2 with all this anti consumer shyt, the ecosystem is not the same where we can take a loss or have reasonable doubt. They will be hoeing us, have hoed us in the past, and will hoe us in the future. Especially because their fans play defense and line up to get served instead of holding them accountable for things like responsible consumers.

We still on Sony ass about that upscaling, and fully expect that over time it will get to where it needs to be, or at least that they’ll try. Can’t say that about the Switch 2. This one game a month shyt ain’t gonna last. 120fps will not happen. Support will dry up around 2028 and they will glacially add some features when they feel like it. They not the same company or product so ain’t no need to “be consistent”.

Also at this point anyone that wanted to play Cyberpunk on current gen would have done so already.
Okay? That's totally irrelevant. You're trying to say this thing is only as powerful as an Xbox One or PS4 and that's clearly not true. It's running Cyberpunk better than either of those platforms.

The audacity of some of y'all dudes:picard:

Afters years of championing or spending hundreds of dollars on hardware and peripherals and random HD remake upgrades the same folks want to act like Nintendo is out of pocket for following the trend you established was ok.

Dudes was buying PSVR2 an addon for a system for more than the actual system cost at launch, bought a PS portals at launch that only let you stream games from the system to it and then bought a pro version of a machine they already owned for 700.

Now these same folks got concerns.

:mjlol:
We live in a tribalized society where people have sides and their side is above criticism. Every other side should be ripped to shreds in full force.

I didn't like when games went to $70 but that ship sailed. This is where we're at now and the rise to $80 won't be the last price bump on games. This is with them even taking a slice of 5 hours of content out of games and selling that for $20 or $30 more.

This is what gamers wanted and they voted with their wallets. Now that the chickens have come home to roost people are getting upset with the sorts of business practices they supported full force. If Tears of the Kingdom flopped due to the price bump Mario Kart World Tour wouldn't be $80. If the Switch with the OLED screen it should have launched with flopped at $350 maybe the Switch 2 wouldn't be $450.

The problem is your are using the term wrong, enthusiast typically will buy new things and keeps up with whatever said hobby is closely.

The PS5 pro is not a enthusiast machine its for those that consider themselves professionals or hardcore. It's literally in the name...

Ironically enough your last paragraph is actually how enthusiast are defined.

Enthusiasts aren't necessarily buying the professional versions and top of the line stuff but they are out here buying a bunch of everything (especially new stuff) in general.

I was just saying that Nintendo smoothly is selling a switch pro as a switch 2 which makes it an enthusiast version and y'all didn't have any problems buying a PS5 pro for better frame rates and resolution but want to complain about the Switch 2. :mjlol:

And now you trying to me a lecture on your custom made definition of enthusiast.

Can't make it up.
A gaming enthusiast is someone who is passionate about gaming, often going beyond casual play, and may actively seek out high-end equipment, explore various genres, and stay updated on the latest games and technology.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Beyond Casual Play:
Gaming enthusiasts are not just occasional players; they engage in gaming regularly and with a degree of passion.

  • High-End Equipment:
They may invest in expensive gaming PCs, consoles, peripherals, and other gaming-related hardware.
  • Diverse Gaming Interests:
Enthusiasts often explore a wide range of game genres and may have in-depth knowledge of specific games or series.

  • Staying Updated:
They keep up with the latest gaming news, releases, and technological advancements.

  • Community Involvement:
Enthusiasts may participate in online gaming communities, forums, or events, sharing their passion and experiences with others.

  • Not Necessarily Addicted:
While some gamers may become addicted, gaming enthusiasts are typically characterized by a balanced and enjoyable relationship with gaming.

  • Esports Involvement:
Some gaming enthusiasts may also be interested in esports, which involves competitive video game play.

  • Examples of Enthusiasts:
An enthusiast might be someone who builds their own gaming PC, participates in competitive online games, or collects rare or limited-edition games.

In what world is an enthusiast NOT someone who would be buying a PS5 Pro? :dwillhuh:
