What tune is she changing? All progressives for that matter (I'm not talking about the dogshyt "leftists" you guys post on this board) were very pleased with the stimulus, pleased with the moratorium extension that Cori forced to happen, pleased with the child tax credits etc. So what tune is she changing? She has been positive when congress does good things it's just rare for them to do it.

Ur almost as bad as the right wing propaganda cats on TLR but you post propaganda for centrist liberals.

It's projection, "the politicians I support are corrupt so they're all corrupt" That's how republicans fukking see things. The media would not essentially declare all out war against you if you were corrupt.....

It also plays into what I said about y'all being sociopaths because you guys can't fathom people actually caring about others. The only explanation is there's some kind of grift or corruption going on.

I wanted Pressure's opinion.

I don't understand this response.

I abhor corruption regardless of party.

How do I not care about other people? You couldn't be more wrong if you believe that.

Constantly fighting for the status quo is a pretty big indication that you don't give a fukk about majority of the people in this country. Candidates like Brown who's victory you seemingly celebrated will never ever change things materially for black people (or any people that aren't rich) in this country, but she will happily vote to exterminate more brown people in Palestine or vote for money to flow unchecked into businesses with our tax dollars.

If I were fighting for the status quo I would vote republican.

Do you think Nina Turner was about to reinvent the wheel as a congresswoman? Doubtful. At the end of the day she lost a primary and can only blame herself.

In general Democrats create laws that improve my life and the lives of black people. That's why I support them. Under Obama and now Biden I've seen this country shift further left than my wildest expectations from when I was a kid and in a relatively short amount of time. I look forward to seeing this country improve and continue to move towards the left as I get older.

:salute:

This conversation isn't about Turner, as Sedar pointed out we need to slowly take over the party on progressive at a time. They'll have other chances to do this.

Republicans are not status quo they push things further right with a slow creep to pure fascism. The Democrats are merely stop gap but don't move anything back in the other direction, we're further right then we've ever been at any point in my life on this planet because Democrats are fukking cowards.

Part in bold is you telling on yourself. Obama's tenure as president resulted in destruction of black wealth and you can trace that back to his awful policies around the 2008 economic crisis in which the recovery and policies heavily favored businesses and the common man was told go fukk himself.

My life improved under Obama, Trump and Biden but many other lives especially black lives did not. I can speak from a place of privilege so It's my job to recognize that and continue to push for better even it hurts me in the long run.

Democrats don't want to help regular people and until they do me and many other progressives will only support progressives. Since the only thing that matters is your material improvement I guess I can see why you'd keep voting Democrat.

“Logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.”

This quote is literally all that matters.

I love this scene, I'm in the mood to be nerdy

I want the party to move to the left when and where it's realistic.

The Democrats have moved this country towards the left. It wasn't Republican populism.

I lost a lot 2008 and still deal with the ramifications to this day. I don't blame Obama or Democrats. I am also thankful for the boom years afterwards which gave me an opportunity to earn.

Under Obama the ACA and Fair Sentencing Act improved countless millions of lives and mine is one of them. I could post lists of policy changes and laws that were great improvements that moved this country left.

Maybe you're too privileged to recognize what was gained. It sure sounds like your heart is in the right place.

I'm a blue collar black small business owner, I live in Brooklyn, New York and I post on the coli . com so that's where I'm coming from

Such a dishonest take. We've looked at Shontel Brown's policies. They're certainly more progressive than centrist. :stopitslime:

This is like when progressives tried to say Warren was a republican as an insult as to insinuate that her progressive policy record isn't a thing merely because she wasn't Bernie or in this case a Bernie acolyte.

Not really.... but she’s ok.

Her policies on “extending moritoriums” rather than full on forgiveness is definitely centrist right wing bullshyt. Same for her means tested college policies, but she’s stated she would vote for M4A if it came to the floor which is currently my number priority in terms of policies so I can live with that.

She’s definitely more Warren than she is full on progressive. I also naturally am never going to trust anyone who receives that kind of money from Israel, or PAC’s in general. So she’s gonna have to prove she’s even Warren level imo. Hopefully she turns out to be a great politician that actually wants to improve American lives
