Man that’s disappointing, wtf do progressives have to do to get people to turn their backs on these fukking monsters
be more tangibly valuable to black people on a local level outside of electoral politics. the panthers already showed the way with their programs and education. that is why they had to be destroyed. having white people show up every 4 years only works for establishment people because in the off-season, they do feed their black vote bundlers with government jobs and whatnot. the left has almost no consistent presence in black society, and no recent history to run on.

Nina was from there and had the endorsement of the mayor, major paper and everything else. There’s nothing else that she could have done.

forgetting about nina for a moment, what has the left been doing to 1) make life better 2) make people more educated on structural class analysis in ohio in the last decade? im not from there, so i dont really know but i doubt there is much more than politically timed rallies.

*ignores Cori Bush and other progressives actually doing things in their community*.

This argument also doesn’t make any sense because establishment Democrats don’t do shyt for black people at all. Every policy progressives push would overwhelmingly help black ppl and they all are in favor of reparations. Meanwhile people like brown would throw black ppl from their homes for a bank.

I hear you.

Thats why I’m saying we gotta build up. The motivation is we have a president that doesn’t give a fukk about the working class and the Dem leadership is that.

There is a case to be made and we gotta build. We gotta stop looking for hail
Mary wins and actually do ground work.
No reason any Bernie voter should've felt good/comfortable sitting on the sideline. It's crazy to me. The "I would vote for Bernie if he won the primary" crowd continues to die. I would love to see how many Bernie voters from OH11 voted for him last spring. Then I would like to know how many of them sat out and of those that did how many WEREN'T contacted.

IMO no Bernie voter should have been left alone.

The problem with the left overall is that they talk tough but then once the get in the cage with the GOP, they get thrown around like rag dolls.
Their failure rate is daunting.
The left has very few real wins this century.
Obamacare was the last substantial win.
They cant even claim COVID-19 stimulus as a win.
Nothing on gun control
Nothing on income inequality
Nothing on police reform.
Nothing on housing.
Nothing on education reform, particularly the astronomical cost of secondary education for degrees that aren't profitable
Nothing on domestic terrorism
Nothing on taming rogue corporations
Nothing on inner city violence except "More police!", which is the opposite of a solution

People are tired of getting their hopes up and being let down, while being continually raped by corporate greed.
The only thing you got to look to is a lone congresswoman sleeping on the stairs of the Capitol in a grass roots style protest.

Progressives with wide eyes and loud voices alone aren't enough anymore to get the non-voter energized to get to the polls.
Calling Obamacare a win for the left shows you have zero idea what the left even is or zero idea what you’re taking about

This argument also doesn’t make any sense because establishment Democrats don’t do shyt for black people at all. This argument is lame as shyt. A better one argument is they need to do things to get black Americans back engaged in politics especially young black Americans.
this has nothing to do with cori bush. she won her race in a different state

establishment democrats have a network of people they confer benefits to. it is never enough, but it is visible and it is a motivator for prominent local black folk to advocate and work for establishment dems. then you have the media favoring establishment talking points and normalizing voting based on fear of republicans and not on issues.

in this environment, if you havent replaced the system of patronage and you do not counter the political education of the establishment, then losing is what you can expect. these top-down campaigns are going to go bad more often than not. time to stop doing the same thing and ending up with shocked pikachu face.
