You're overexaggerating because you're [sub]consciously focused on the moments which you perceive to be bad play from him, as if they're the norm and not an outlier, when if you took everything in equal measure, you'd realize he doesn't go ghost, but the very opposite:

2015 First round - Game 3 away from home - down 105-108, hits 3-pointer with two seconds left, goes into OT and contributes 11 of the 15 points through scoring/playmaking - finishes the series averaging 34 ppg on high efficiency.
2015 Second Round - down 1-2 - closes out series on the road x2 - averaged nearly 30 ppg on high efficiency against one of the best defensive teams in the league, dropping 13 points in the 4th quarter of the close-out game.
2015 WCF - averages 31 ppg on ultra efficiency, including a 40-pt game on 19 shots away from home.
2015 Finals - down 1-2 - closes out the series with three straight wins - averages 28 ppg on high efficiency (while his second-option only averaged 8 ppg), finished with the most clutch points in the series (even more than LeBron), while dealing with more defensive attention than any player in the league.

2016 Second Round (returns after being injured in the first round) - breaks the overtime scoring record with 17 points, finishes the series averaging 34 ppg on ultra efficiency.
2016 WCF - down 1-3 - closes out series with three straight wins - averaged 32 ppg on high efficiency, including a 22-point second half to go along with Klay's 25-point second half in Game 6 away from home (hitting the dagger), and a 36-point performance in Game 7 (hitting 7-12 threes) when the rest of his teammates shot poorly from the field, including a 15-point 4th quarter, again, hitting the dagger. Including a masterful performance on defense, where he defended Westbrook better than any other Warriors defender.

2017 First Round, Second Round, WCF, Finals - his first postseason since 2015 where he was healthy: had multiple 30+ ppg series' on ultra efficiency, and end up finishing the postseason with one of the most efficient high-volume scoring postseasons in NBA history.

2018 Second Round (returns from injury, after being out for nearly two months) - closes out the series with a 28-point performance on ultra efficiency.
2018 WCF - drops close to 30 ppg in the last five games on high efficiency, in the midst of being down 2-3, had TWO pivotal quarter scoring-bursts to help break the deadlock in both elimination games - in particular Game 7 when he brought his team back from being down double-digits at halftime with a 14-point quarter.

Apart from the hiccup in the 2016 Finals (where his mobility was gradually getting worse due to an injury), Curry has performed like an all-time great in EVERY single key-moment in the playoffs, since his rise to superstardom. Not just one play, or one game, or one series, but ALL of them - even more so when the Warriors were trailing in series' or games - he'd reach a new level.

And this is without mentioning he was dealing with more defensive attention than any other perimeter player in NBA history, in the '15 and '16 postseasons.

He's a far, far, far greater floor general, than Magic is a scorer - Magic's not even remotely coming close to him as a scorer.

:hubie:

Not only is this not true, at all, but if you knew what the fukk you're talking about, you'd know that Magic is really the one who's committed stupid turnovers and made crucial mistakes at the wrong time.

The errors that Magic made in that series are far worse than what Curry has ever been guilty of.

I see the word 'injury' alot in your post, I already know what time it is. And I think you are underrating Magic scoring ability. if Magic needed to get you 25 he could, efficiently. steph not racking up Magic's assist numbers, and thats playing with 2 of the greatest shooters. Steph barely averaged over 8 assist, whereas magic would average between 12-15 in the playoffs. Curry is a better shooter, but thats literally it. Magic does everything else on the court better, and has a much better resume. I dont see how this is even an argument right now.

Nothing I posted was false; he's had TWO major injuries to deal with over the last four postseasons. Why didn't you acknowledge that despite those injuries he's still only had one average/bad playoff series in the past four years - otherwise, he's come out on top in every "key moment"? You know after you wrongly claimed that he goes "ghost in key moments".

I do find it strange how you can't even provide any examples of this.
And I think you are underrating Magic scoring ability. if Magic needed to get you 25 he could, efficiently.
I don't think you've ever watched enough of Magic's play. He doesn't come close to Curry as a scorer, period. Magic's "efficiency" was largely down the tempo of the teams he played on, scoring on the fastbreak, and just the lack of strong defensive play during that era.
steph not racking up Magic's assist numbers, and thats playing with 2 of the greatest shooters. Steph barely averaged over 8 assist, whereas magic would average between 12-15 in the playoffs.
See, now, this is why I know you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Magic averaged high assist #s because he monopolized the ball, and played at a pace with more possessions; whereas Curry plays on a team whose offense is predicated on moving the ball (not having just one player control everything), which is why he doesn't average high assist #s. He generates more open looks for his teammates, due to his gravity/off-ball play and passing ability. This is why you need to stop looking at the box score, and start looking at tape.
Curry is a better shooter, but thats literally it. Magic does everything else on the court better, and has a much better resume. I dont see how this is even an argument right now.
As if you couldn't make yourself look like even more of a casual.

In a few paragraphs, explain to me why you think Curry will never surpass Magic.

Players only get analyzed for what they did in their era against their peers

Magic didnt play in the pace/space and analytics era

Only players in the analytics era get viewed through that lens because they have the privilege of having that information

My eyes tell me Magic was more talented/dominant against his peers which individual awards corroborate than Curry while achieving as much if not more team success as Curry will finish with which is impressive because the disparity between Magic’s/Lakers and their rivals was less than GS/Lebron

Now bullshyt away with your kevin pelton parrot computational no context analysis plucked off a realgm thread

For Steph to ever really be #1 he has to get atleast one finals mvp, which can you say is cheapshorting Magic but Steph can’t let this narrative that he’s robin to KD continue to build with KD being the best player every finals from this point forward. We all see how that worked for Kobe with this whole “but but shaq” shyt:mjlol:

nikka, I've watched seasons and seasons worth of Magic's play - there isn't shyt you can tell me about his game, Mr. I've only seen 40+ games. The fact you can't even break down his game, at all, and compare it to Curry's, but would rather resort to some generic nonsense to make out like you know what you're talking about tells me all I need to know about your basketball takes.

TYRONE GA!
look you dudes making the outlandish claims. the burden of the proof is on yall. to say steph is better than magic, is saying curry a top 10 player of all time. i havent seen 1 credible list with steph as a top 10 player. shyt dude not even top 20

the only PG that is certified top 10 is Earvin though. The remainder are 2 SGs - Mike and Kobe, and then forwards/centers.

Why do y'all dudes keep repeating this nonsense? He doesn't need a FMVP, he just needs to play great. Let me put this to you:

Curry performs above-average in the Finals, and the rest of his teammates don't perform as well as he did, and he wins MVP
Curry performs on all-time great level in the Finals, but Durant or Klay perform slightly better, and he doesn't win MVP

Which performance should be valued higher?

Players 30 years later have more expansive skillsets, you dont say? :ohhh:

You think I would fall for such a silly set up? Thats all u got Gil? :russ:

Once again given his era, Magic won more in a more competitive league at the top and accomplished more individually in terms of accolades and eye test
