They also need to respect human rights; let people have accountable governments; not allowing public officials get away with abusing their authority etc. etc.
Do you get the above with dictatorial regimes? It's strange that the Coli worships dictators. Let the Coli live under the regime of Mubarak, Mobutu, Abacha or Mengistu and utter such things
The people that push for dictators either don't remember those clowns or benefited from those clowns being empowered. IMO there just needs to be a clean break from the colonial masters. You can still be their trade partners, but you can not allow them to control your countries. There is no good upside to that, because allowing them to control your countries and economies; means that they will continue to be rich and your citizens will continue to live in poverty. Other things that need to happen is that there needs to be a real commitment to human rights. The justice systems need to be revised to actually render justice for all people and not just the rich and powerful. There needs to be a recognition that tribalism exists, but a realization that a country can not move forward being tribal.
The biggest thing that needs to happen is that Africans, especially West Africans need to start working together. Just from a practical standpoint, there needs to be a massive master plan for infrastructure improvement throughout all of West Africa to extend the electrical network and to build interstate roads, bridges and light rail. That should not be something that the Chinese are doing on a country by country basis, because that is the a new way to put Africans into debt. The West Africans should be the ones doing the planning and building, which could easily be accomplished because they have plenty of colleges that produce tons of accountants and engineers. Massive capital projects would create tangible benefits for all citizens in every one of those countries, because it would create jobs, which would lift people out of poverty and create a real middle class.
In my unrealistic dream vision the West African would unite like the EU and Americans did. The uniting could help them to push one agenda in trade and the like. A united West Africa could also deal with the realization of the past horrors starting with slavery (Arab and Transatlantic trades) and extending through the end of colonialism. The United countries could then focus on building ties with their cousins in the Americas and they could all have one voice against White Supremacy. We all know that is not going to happen, because nikkas don't work together on anything. Every nikka wants to be the chief, rather than seeing the bigger picture that every nikka everywhere is getting fugged over because none of us work together for our own gain. Even White people and Yellow people work together to advance their own shyt, but Black people never work together.
