People need to stop with the family is from X that makes Stephen A from X. No it doesn’t. Stephen A is born here so he’s American.

Like I said my whole family is from Jamaica. Both parents everyone but I was born in the Bronx I am not Jamaican I am an American.

There’s a difference between race, nationality and ethnicity

Mind you these were some of my favorite rappers. I still love listening to Ghost to this day. But i too exception to the Redman one especially since that was mid 90s when Haitians were stigmatized in parts of the african-american community especially in places like South Florida and Jersey.
  • Redman - Bomb traum', funkier than Haitian underarms. Represent Jersey, the land of firearms.
  • GhostFace - My Memorex performed tape decks, my own Fostex/ Watch out for Haiti bytches, I heard they throw hex/ Yo, wu whole platoon is filled with racc00ns
I cant recall the Nas one right now. I have to think and look for it. He had a line

Damn:mjlol:

But who are we kidding?

We've heard our share of ignorant comments from celebrities about foreigners in the past tho they have toned it down lately. I guess i'm haitian and i take notice of them from some of my favorite rappers like Redman to Ghostface and Nas making eyebrow-raising comments about haitians.

Lil Wayne's "A millionaire/I'm a Young Money millionaire, tougher than Nigerian hair" gets a pass.

But for a second as SaS was going through the names it took me back to those "african booty scratcher" comments some the ignorant clowns used to make about africans in the 80s and 90s.
lol isn't Lil Wayne nigerian tho

Nigerians are annoying. Sassy has been tearing down black athletes for years and they’ve said nothing. Now that he tears down Nigerians, it’s suddenly a diaspora war when they didn’t give a fukk when he was tearing down a “different “type of black people.

Dog I’m an African American I was born here. I don’t have a Visa and can’t be deported :what:

I love all the great historical stuff you post too I’m not tryin to beef with you either :hubie:
Your Jamaican American breh you can’t discount African American culture, an African American from the Deep South is vastly different from a Caribbean or African these are facts. African Americans deserve to have our own identity.

Also African Americans from the Deep South are very different then African Americans from the east coast it’s damn near no similarities.

If anything I always felt that he defended African Americans. What makes you think that he was going to at them in anyway? What has he said that you would consider tearing down African Americans? Not asking to challenge what you said. I’m asking because I don’t know so easy
