But people with the family is from X that makes Stephen A from X. No it doesn’t. Stephen A is born here so he’s American.

You are what your roots are. He's American alright: West Indian American not African American/AfroAmerican

Like I said my whole family is from Jamaica. Both parents everyone but I was born in the Bronx I am not Jamaican I am an American.

You're Jamaican-American:myman:

That's crazy because it switched hands from the Dutch to the Danish before the US purchased those lands outright in the early 1900s.
That was said to me by 2 people from VI themselves. :hubie:

Mind you these were some of my favorite rappers. I still love listening to Ghost to this day. But i too exception to the Redman one especially since that was mid 90s when Haitians were stigmatized in parts of the african-american community especially in places like South Florida and Jersey.
  • Redman - Bomb traum', funkier than Haitian underarms. Represent Jersey, the land of firearms.
  • GhostFace - My Memorex performed tape decks, my own Fostex/ Watch out for Haiti bytches, I heard they throw hex/ Yo, wu whole platoon is filled with racc00ns
I cant recall the Nas one right now. I have to think and look for it. He had a line

the redman line is offensive

Ghostrace tho…. :russ:

This was when Haitians were being stigmatized in the US over the voodoo religion because of your dumb holliwoodd movies and the FDA saying that the Aids virus came from Haiti. You really think Ghostface's line was not offensive at that time?

And who are you to tell someone what they should find offensive? Careful how you answer that question...Because lord knows the african-american community be quick to point out what they find offensive.
Hell, Americans (black and white) period. Only nation i been around that find it offensive if you merely speak another language in their presence even if it's not about them. :skip:
