Unlike her other contemporaries such as Sexyy Red, Glorilla, Meg, Latto, Nicki, Cardi, etc Ice Spice doesn't have a melodious voice but rather a monotonous one so in order for her music to work her beats gotta be hitting or else she's kinda boring.

See the other women I mentioned their voices have melody so they're able to make their lyrics sound interesting...whereas Spice doesn't have that so her music heavily relies on catchy (energetic) beats to make her voice work.
