Nick Cannon Late-Night Series in the Works at Fox
Fox is looking to enter the late night space.
The network is teaming up with Nick Cannonand The Talking Dead executive producer Michael Davies for a weekly topical late night series. The untitled project, which is in development, would be hosted by Cannon and cover pop culture and feature high-profile celebrity interviews, music performances and stand-up comics.
The late night talker is part of a larger development deal Cannon has signed with Fox, the soon-to-be independent broadcast network. As an extension of the potential weekly late-night show, Cannon and Davies will join Fox's digital team to curate online segments to be distributed via social media. The development pact extends Cannon's relationship with Fox as he next hosts and co-exec produces the network's upcoming celebrity competition series The Masked Singer. The former America's Got Talent host recently served in the same capacity on The Teen Choice Awards, which aired on Fox in August.

Nick Cannon to Host, Produce Power 106 Morning Show
Multi-hyphenate Nick Cannon is taking over as main host and producer of Los Angeles radio station Power 106’s morning show, station owner Meruelo Media announced Friday (June 14). Titled Nick Cannon Mornings, the show is slated to launch Monday and will air daily from 5-10 a.m.
“Power 106 is one of the most substantial fixtures in our hip hop culture that has proven time and time again that they are #1 and not going anywhere!” said Cannon in a statement. “Los Angeles is used to star players joining star franchises! I’m just honored for the opportunity to make our community and culture proud.”
“Nick Cannon is that fresh sound we were looking for on Power 106,” added Power 106 program director E-Man. “Nick is an incredible entertainer who embodies hip hop, pop culture, comedy, and community all in one! We are very excited to have him on our team.”
Power 106’s most recent regular morning show host was J Cruz, who left the station in April for an afternoon hosting job at rival Los Angeles radio station Real 92.3. His predecessor Big Boy, who hosted the Power 106 morning show for 18 years, decamped for Real 92.3 in 2015.
Cannon has been busy as of late. In addition to hosting duties on his long-running MTV series Wild ’N Out (slated to begin production on its 15th season later this year) and FOX’s The Masked Singer (returning for Season 2 in the fall), he recently signed a development deal with Fox that includes a possible weekly late-night series to be hosted by Cannon. He also filled in for Larry King this week on King's Ora TV talk show Larry King Now.
On the music side, Cannon released the single “Nobody Else” (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) with his hip-hop group NCredible Gang earlier this year. He also heads his own entertainment company, Ncredible Entertainment, and is pursuing a master's degree at Howard University.
