Been playing this for a bit, up at the 2nd island and got few quick conclusions

- Game is dope as hell and low key better than Soulsbourne, they really took their style and ran with it

- Depth of gameplay is dope, unlike Soulsbourne's roll/sidestep & hit you're given much more tools to play with

-Living weapons are dope and probably OP, shreds bosses with ease

-The contained level structure's great, you can pick it up and get a few bits done in an hour or so

- Finally the armour/gear sets bonuses are dope, love when games have them. Also light/medium armour >>>>>>>>>>>heavy, that extra ki movement is so clutch

I know I'm two years late on the game but:yeshrug:, I'm actually hyped for Nioh 2

One minor negative, the Way of the Warrior samurai boss that you kill on the 1st island is the most obnoxious boss I've played in a minute, Seth from Street Fighter obnoxious. I cheesed that punk

Wait til you get to the final island and the DLC.....Sarutobi Sasuke :whew:

Just beat Nue, that lighting cat. :myman:

Easiest boss so far I believe. Struggled a lot more with the Vampire Chick and the Chain w/balls Demon

I started using the Tonfas. Jesus Christ why did I wait so long? Speed is ridiculous. I had to respec my character so I could unlock all of the moves in Low and Mid stances. The Mystic Art that lets you stop any attack, once I actually remember I have it, and figure out when to use it? Yeah, this shyt is gonna be insanity. Damn near nonstop pressure. I haven't even looked at my dual swords and katanas since I started using the tonfas. :hhh:

I'm on the last mission (I'm assuming) of the DLC and then I'm debating whether to do all the Twilight Missions or just run through the game again. I see the Abyss lurking there too. This game is so fun and addicting. I can put it down for a bit, but I always come crawling back.

Completed :blessed:

Sloth and a lot of the other Omnyo skills made the latter half relatively easy. Those human/eagle-like creatures were harder than any boss.

Kelley 'fight' was disappointing.

10/10 game, would recommend :whew:

Axe in the high stance, triangle, back away, repeat. :yeshrug:

I know the combat system is more complex but I can't remember all the button combinations and what they do and what skills I have or don't have unlocked

I haven't even tried fukking with Magic yet and I'm going to the 4th Island in one mission or so.

Ok, so I'm always fighting revenants, and found a spot where everyone seemed to be dropping Red Demon boots with running speed as the inheritable trait. I get an idea, and get enough so I can put running speed on every piece of armor for both of my setups. LMAO I move around so damn fast now without having to sprint it's ridiculous. I'm gonna be running these enemies in circles. I'll be falling off ledges and tight walkways a bit more, but damn if this isn't gonna be fun.

Made it to the final region after taking a few months off of this game
- ran with the axe for 1st half of game but using sword/duals mainly now
- neglected magic in the beginning but trying out talismans
- game might lowkey be better than soulsbourne. combat has far more layers

I've put so many hours into this game, and I don't see myself slowing down anytime soon. I just can't stop playing it. It's gonna be so hard going from my current character to nothing when part 2 drops.

beat the main game but the optional missions they added after are on some bullshyt. fighting two bosses at one time or waves of spam enemies :hhh:
I felt the same way, until I optimized my build. I looked at a couple of those missions in the last DLC (Grand Tournament, Fare for the Afterlife) and never thought I'd beat 'em on WOTN. Last week I said fukk it and dove in. Ran through them like butter. I've cleared the entire game on Way of the Nioh. Making yourself immune to bullets/projectiles is damn near a cheat code. Makes shyt sooooooooooo much easier. And being able to stay with A agility is like the cherry on top.

I've gotten into a groove in the Abyss. Bosses are simple. Even Jin, who I always struggled with. I fought him twice today and first-tried him both times. I'm up to floor 134, and at about 100 they started sprinkling in 2 bosses at the same time here and there. It can be a pain, but luckily one of the bosses is usually a straight human, and those are easy to deal with rather quickly. Just gotta try and get separation from the 2nd boss.

Once you start messing with the Graces on different weapons/armor that you get out of the Abyss, the game gets even deeper than it was before. My main build right now is pure filth. Tonfas and katana as my weapons. Sarutobi 4pc/Izanagi 4pc/Amaterasu 3pc as my sets. My 2nd set is Hayabusa 7pc/Izanagi 4pc with Dragon Sword and Tonfas. I do more damage with 2nd, but 1st has firearm/projectile immunity. I have other builds that I've been tinkering with (dual swords/tonfas, dual swords/katana), but those 2 get the most run.

I want to play this game so bad, but I'm stuck on my current rotation. Got the game when it first came out but still haven't opened it. I have it lined up as one of my next 3 games when I beat one of the 3 now. Games seems so dope. I played the demo before it was released

Yeah, if you like these types of games, you're gonna put a lot of hours into it, so be prepared.
