I’m also not impressed by the Eagles. I don’t know if they’re just too cocky or what but they were a better team last year. D was much better. Line was getting abused again at buffalo. I think the 9ers are the better team right now and should be bigger favourites. Will be putting money on this game. Hurts turning the ball over at least 2 times.

Does anyone actually think that would be possible if you had say... Russ, Dobbs, Menshew (insert mediocre QB here obviously russ would be a high end game manager) in there? Of course not

If Lamar was as shyt at throwing as people are trying to claim people would just stack the box. Ask the Lions how making Lamar beat them through the air worked out for them.

People really discounting how defenses have caught up to the offenses. Even the Dolphins, San Fran, and Detroit slowed down for a bit there. Its just hard to produce high end offense week in and week out in the NFL. The defenses are just too talented now a days. I mean christ denver went from giving up a 70 to the dolphins to making mahomes their bytch

Things change quickly in the NFL and now were seeing another change just like when we saw defenses get absolutely eviscerated once offenses modernized and started incorporating college stuff within them like the wildcat. Did everyone forget what happened when the dolphins broke the wildcat out against the Patriots because I sure as fukk didn't.

For those who did forget here's a refresher

Mind you the patriots won 11 games this season

I agree with you. I don't think Lamar is a game manager. I think the team is managing him to keep him safe if that makes any sense. But he is making use of every snap no doubt. He is towards the bottom of the league in pass attempts but but in the upper half of air yard and play succes. That's what I had meant as the truth is in the middle. They are in the driver's seat to the one seed.

We gotta wrangle in these QB salaries...no way some of these guys should be making the money they're making...

25-30% of the salary cap for some of this play is crazy...

In order the only QB's that are taking up 20-25% of the cap are Burrow, Herbert, Lamar, Hurts, Russ, Kyler, Watson, Mahomes, and Allen.

The top tier are going to get market value and that's just how it is. No one's taking a pay cut. That's why you pay GM's and scouts to do their job. They need to find talent in the draft and low cost free agents. Trade guys or let them walk when they're up for deals and aquire low cost talent. KC let Tyreek go, replaced him with Juju, had rookies starting all over and won a ring. The front office has to figure out how to construct the roster and the coaches need to make it work on the field.

What they need to do is stop over paying for mediocrity. Daniel Jones is next on the list after the above names and he's taking up 18% of the cap. He's tied with Dak who despite the criticism he gets is 5x the player Jones is.

Carr is at 17%.

I'd rather pay a bridge guy than sign a Jones or Carr. You pay them and you're right back to having to draft a QB anyway while still having to pay a bum his guarantees. NO could have played Jameis at a bargain bin price, spent money on other positions of need, and if he doesn't produce you're in position to draft Jayden or Penix. They come into to a team with talent so they don't need to carry the load and can game manage until they develop. Maybe some of these QB's won't flame out if they get time to learn instead of having to produce with nothing around them.

Great reply. I had Jones and Carr in mind when I wrote this mainly...I thought they hit the 25-30% mark. Kyler, I'm looking at him out of that list...I'ma give Herbert just a tad bit more time. Allen, smh he's the main one.

Ish just crazy. Yeah, you gotta find some gems in the draft and the right priced (and right suit) FA, but damn QB can really hinder that, especially on that second contract. Hell, I be mad at Dak but that deal isn't the backbreaker it could've been...he's played decent but hasn't won big...but it's better than what Jones or Carr have done.

The ish just crazy. You gotta hit on your drafted QBs and hope you can get the weapons around them before that 5th year or the second contract come around. Wild way to have to maneuver

I don't have a problem with Kyler's place on that list. Despite his flaws the team didn't build around him and had the wrong coach. I think he has enough talent that you could win with him.

The way the game is now everyone thinks QB first but there's only about 15 of them who are really franchise caliber and a lot of those guys are highly flawed and unproven. Mahomes and Hurts are the clear top two who you can confidently see having their team in the hunt along with a front office to match. I'm not putting Burrow there with them yet because he's injury prone and I gotta see how the roster is built going forward. The rest of the bunch has question marks with their play, coaching, and roster.

I think more teams need to go back to the old way of winning with defense and the running game. Stop asking guys to put up 350 and 3 TDs when they can't do it consistently. Get back to valuing RB's and being balanced so you can mask some of the flaws your QB has. Lamar's mechanics aren't always there but if your defense is holding the other team under 20 the Ravens can win a Super Bowl with him having under 200 yards passing but you got over 200 rushing.

I was watching Texan/Jags and they had Stroud throwing deep on 3rd and 4th with only half a yard to gain. It was a turnover on downs. Run the ball and stop making the game harder than necessary. Coaching needs a major overhaul.

He'll be a bust like the rest of the USC QBs. :manny:

Retarded take. Same could be said about Alabama QBs before Hurts and Tua came on the scene, it's not about the school it's about the player. CW isn't a system guy surrounded by blue chip talent at WR and OL, dude literally has to make magic happen on 75% of the snaps because his terrible defense and lack of high end offensive talent around him.

He's gonna be a top 5 QB by year 3.
