I don’t see generational greatness from any of these young QBs or even in college aside from possibly Arch Manning.

Right now it’s Pat, Josh and Lamar. Everyone else is on a sliding tier of mid.

Besides his last name what has this young fellow shown that he is better than every other young qb :jbhmm:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
It's not quarterbacks, it's the entire league. They changed so many rules, and incorporated gambling so much that it's just not watchable most of the time.

College football isn't any better. It's become more about storylines and narratives than actual games. In fact ALL popular sports are suffering from this. Hockey, professional soccer and women's basketball were the only sports that didn't have to deal with the bullshyt.

The WNBA experienced a taste of the bullshyt this year with Caitlin Clark joining the league.

All major sports cater to fanbases who are comprised of A LOT of scumbag a$$holes. The media helped ruin the sport.

Meh

I honestly think the answered is more nuanced than a crisis of QB talent. Remember this isnt the NFL or the college game we grew up watching. 20 years ago, QBs stayed in one program for three to four years and were in "pro-style" offenses. In some cases, QBs were allowed to sit and learn the game. Its not like that anymore, these offenses are becoming much more gimmicky, QBs aren't really allowed to develop anymore. NIL has these QBs going from program to program along with the fact that some franchises are shytty at team building and you have a recipe for disaster.

Just look at Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold. Two highly drafted QBs drafted by shytty franchises with questionable talent and expected to perform immediately. They lost the jobs, found stable situations and look much better.

QB isn't just about the individual, its the entire organization. Look at how much Trevor Lawrence has regressed.

The bolded needs to be talked about more. A lot of these QBs are going to situations where they are expected to be the savior and the franchises they are going to usually have more problems than just the QB position. Ain't too many QBs would be able to overcome the mess that is the Jets or Giants.

All that is really happening is that the NFL is coming off of a 15 year period where the league mainly marketed “elite” QBs going against each other (Rogers, Manning, Brady, Brees, etc). When I was first watching football even if there were great QBs (Elway, Young, Aikman, etc), you still had star RBs and WRs and even defensive players being marketed. The NFL can’t really market this current crop of QBs like that, with the exception of Mahomes, so the league is lost a bit.

In terms of the games today, today was a great day to do stuff outside of the NFL. I watched soccer in the AM, did stuff with the fam in the afternoon, settling in with this game tonight. No need to watch NFL all the time

We were spoiled with great QBs. Manning, Brees, Brady, Rodgers played at insanely high level for a long time. Even second tier QBs like Romo, Stafford, Ryan, Luck, Roethlisberger, Rivers had elite moments. Only Mahomes is truly a special QB today to me

And defenses have gotten better. Their more disciplined and better coached

The crop of QBs in the league now is complete :trash:

When a garbage ass nikka like Dak constantly makes top-10 lists, u know the talent is ass.

Burrow, Allen, Lamar, and Pat are the only ones worth a damn honestly
