I don't think Republicans actually care about that at all. It's just a nickname for liberals to use.
I have no idea why he runs with "Desanctimonious", that's got to be the most boring one I've seen and a large percentage of his audience probably doesn't even know the word.

I been saying from day one Newsome should be the nominee for 2028. Republicans are scared of him, even more now after he destroyed their next “chosen one”. Gavin should easily trounce them…..cuz who republicans gonna run in 2028 against Newsome? Christie?
The “California” stuff not gonna hurt him. Republicans already tried that “He’s uppity, too celebrity, too liberal” crap with Obama and it didn’t work.
