Wrecking homeless encampments isn't what people meant by "do something".

The problem with liberals is they don't want to see homelessness or the failures of their country.

They'd rather it's just kept out of view and we let things continue as normal.

This is not the solution many people want, it's just the one they're getting.

Man’s is concerned about the optics of his state being a shythole now that he is gonna be running for something. Worried about homeless and crime etc. “Oakland please pursue criminals” is wild to even have to say. if you don’t think that’s disingenuous then maybe you have the dems dikks too far down your throat

Everybody: homelessness in California is a problem. They have to do something!:damn:

Newsom: *does something*

Everybody: He's only doing it because of XYZ...

Me: You clowns live to be miserable and bash everything :why::gucci:
He ripped down their tents and threw out their belongings. They're still homeless and on the street

1) Newsom is not a VP contender

2) these moves were plotted by him to look “tough” for 2028 for a presidential bid, but if kamala wins, breh’s window closes

3) we pay too much to live here and not be able to use parks, public areas and even sidewalks, they been needed to get this shyt off the streets. Put them in some parking lots way out, but get these big ass encampments out the way

US gonna be brazil status by next century
I'm pretty sure it'll be here before 2050.
Yup.... said this yesterday. The bay area and new york are turning into Sao Paulo. Which makes me wonder what areas are going to be the favelas?
Favelas/shanty-towns is also something I see coming to the USA. Property in cities show no signs of decreasing, but corporations need to be centrally located. If environmental rights get eroded, I can see the countryside becoming a wasteland/lower quality regions where lower castes live and vie for the few resources/opportunities that the upperclass sparsely share. UBI and/or crypto tokens will be given for just enough to subsist and not rebel; many of these tech platforms/companies have or are working on a crypto equivalent to use on their platform. Same idea as company towns.

History doesn't repeat, it rhymes.
@yung Herbie Hancock said the same thing coincidentally to you a few days ago. I been around Latin America a lot these last few months. That style of living is coming to the US sooner than we realize.

Bleeding heart ass; if they're not gonna actually help them, at least sweep it under the rug like they do for everything else :manny:
I don't think it's just the worst of the worst living in those places. Rent and utilities are high asf. Im pretty sure it's people w/ actual lives who live in those places as well. They could be putting the fries in your bag

There was an expansion of this over the previous 8 years or so. Once upon a time in LA a bridge might have one tented fella there for a short period of time, then it became the entire sidewalk under the bridge is untraversable and you had walk around the sidewalk in the shoulder of the road

I believe a law happened which made it illegal to displace their stuff

That is closer to moral than this

This doesn't seem correct by any means and even the biggest partisan cheerleaders can hopefully recognize that before deciding whether or not to wave their pom-poms

House them or kill them at this point

fukk Reagan and the right wingers that essentially destroyed mental health infrastructure, but these bums are gross
Nahh those places were inhumane

You have to accept that some people don't want to live the way you do and that can't be criminalized in a free country

Slab City, California can be a good model for how to structure things

They can give them a certain amount of time and then bus them all from Los Angeles to California City and let them develop the unfinished portions of the city

There are abandoned buildings in every city. Fix them up and add luxury items so that the homeless feel they are in the presence of exquisiteness and begin to want better for themselves and chart a path to be a podcast CEO
:wow:
