I used to be a big proponent of criticizing the government and the institutions that disadvantage Black people out the gate, but honestly you have to clean up your own yard before anyone can take those excuses seriously. We have a culture that openly promotes against education and glamorizes a lot of the problems we see the youth struggling with.

Get rid of the culture and you still see these type of numbers, then the critiques of the system hold that much more weight because it shows we are doing what we can on our own, but the institutions are truly at work to keep us back.

Idk the issue is a bit perplexed and complex. To summarize my point of without going into full essay mode, you can't save people who don't want to be saved in essence, especially when you dealing with population that doesn't know much nor has the foresight of opportunity outside of their immediate reach. :scusthov: cats who never leave their city, state, or country. I'd love to do some intervention in the near future, but it's require more than just being an armchair activist on my behave.

interesting

chicago has a higher death rate but not a lower graduation rate

cant really link violent behavior to level of intelligence

Definitely. The biggest orchestrators of violence in history have all been mostly highly intelligent people
