Interesting perspective.

I definitely agree with the notion that human sexuality is fluid, and best thought of as a spectrum.
Is it possible for heterosexual men to engage in homosexual sex? Are such men "really" gay or bisexual?

That depends on how you define gay and bisexual. In my opinion, what makes somebody gay or bisexual is having emotional and romantic attraction to the same sex. A man who develops crushes on men, for example, would have to be gay or bi. I don't believe that simply having sex with members of the same sex makes a person gay.

In any case, black men need to accept the fact that human sexuality is flexible. The rampant homophobia in our community is literally killing us. We've all heard the narrative of the "down low brotha" who gives his wife HIV. That ish needs to stop, and can only stop when black men become more accepting of each others sexual practices.

Don't try to pin it on cacs and act like there aren't scores of heterosexual-identified BM engaging in homosexual sex. Many of them are probably posting this thread. Go head and neg me tho.

:wtf: this is absolute nonsense...

If you're engaging in homosexual intercourse, you're at least bisexual IMO. I've heard of straight guys who are gay for pay in porno, but even then - if we're going by the theory that sexuality exists on a continuum, then logic dictates that these guys at least fall somewhere near the middle of the spectrum. As a straight man, I can't comprehend the desire to want to fukk a dude, so I'm guessing it's something else if they're otherwise still attracted to women. My guess is bi :manny:

Also, I'd think that such homosexual behavior is more permissible among white guys like this because of the changing culture around them. Black dudes don't have that privilege :russ:. You're either straight or gay, and if you're gay, "fire bun fi yu bloodclaat". Which is why dudes go out of their way to seem as straight as possible (no homo, pause etc).

As a man who does not judge, I have no problem with dudes working out whatever bi-curiosity they've got going on if they need to get it out of their system - I can't vouch for everyone else though. And just don't attempt to do any experiments with me because I don't fall anywhere near the middle of that spectrum :usure:
I was thinking the same thing. With Black folks(Black men in particular) if you so much as dap-hug your friend for a half second too long, than you're on the DL, and DL men(according to many) are the cause of AIDS rates in the Black community. Oprah, and other shows had episodes dedicated to throwing Black men under the bus, and creating a witch hunt-type atmosphere in the Black female blogosphere, gossip webs(Mediafakeout, Bossip) that targets any Black male celebrity, and accuses him of being DL for doing the most mundane things. ON THE FLIPSIDE, you got articles like the NY Mag one the OP posted, that not only shields these White men from the gay label, but EXCUSES and condones their DL behavior. I have nothing against gay people myself. There's plenty of cool, chill, gay Black dudes out here who are cool regular dudes, who just so happen to like other dudes. But in regards to this article, the contrast between how White Sexually Confused dudes are treated and accepted vs how alleged "DL Activity" amongst men in the Black community is treated, it's quite obvious, that this is White privilege to a T.

But if you're a brotha, cheating on his wife with a another dude, tranny, or even another woman, you're pretty much making your own bed.

But here's the thing about that, NO ONE has denies that DL Black men exist. The DL problem in the Black community has been something that has been discussed and documented ad nausea for the past 10-11yrs. Basically since JL King went on the Oprah show in 2004 with his DL Book. So ain't anyone denying anything on this side of the racial aisle. It's Whites, who are dictating that Male on Male sex, isn't necessarily gay. I sorta agree with you about Black men ourselves sealing this self-destruction, by basically forcing other Black men in the closet, by shaming homosexuality.
