New York City Council aims to allow foreign citizens to vote in elections

Actually based on the proposal this isn’t a stretch I thought they were extending this to undocumented immigrants.

It's completely reasonable to anyone that takes five minutes to actually look at what's being proposed. It makes sense why people would second-guess it based on the periphery, but we're in a city where like a quarter of the population is immigrants and work and student visas help make things run. Treating permanent legal residents like they're outsiders seems like some MAGA ish to me. (Sidenote: isn't Cumbo quoted above the same one that got in trouble for complaining about too many Asians moving into her district? I'm pretty sure she's one of the Adams clique which New Yorkers will be sour on before long).

Yeah fam, I didn't know anybody that was actually excited for Adams. It sucks that progressives didn't find one candidate to get behind and we wound up with a bunch of mediocre opponents for him in the primary (nobody that run would have had me enthusiastic). I feel like Adams will be disliked reeeeeeal quick once everyone gets a better taste of his nonsense (stop and frisk is def gonna be back and I remember seeing heads get yolked up for no good reason all the time around my job, family-members included). DeBlasio was bad, I expect Adams to be worse. That Adams clique is gonna look funny in the light, but maybe they'll get enough love nationally to entrench more power for themselves (worse for us). Everyone I knew hated Cuomo but his national profile was always treated with kiddie gloves or flat out love.
