Didn't like it. And that doesn't mean it was bad. It was perfectly average. Liked the tension, liked the main characters for the most part and the twist intrigued me but I just didn't like it. Didn't mind the violence at all. If anything I thought it was kinda of tame for real. It's just a middle of the road flick which didn't really seem to a lot going for it. It's like a bad episode of a sketch show: some parts work more than others but in the end, it just doesn't come together. I got an email from Deadline the other day with their review for the movie and the headline was simple: "Don't Breathe" Don't Go. I gotta agree with that

Fukk dude with that twist tho:russ:

:mjcry: Not you too, Marty. Dang...I'm going to see it again with another friend on Tuesday. Maybe with a new person and new crowd the flaws will be more apparent.

I enjoyed it. It was tense as fukk and Stephen Lang was a creepy b*stard as The Blind Man. I also thought Jane Levy represented herself very well in the "Final Girl" role. And the fact that it was super violent was a plus. I even liked the surprise revelation of The Blind Man's ultimate motivations. It was gross and disgusting but that just made the character even more of a twisted monster.

Thats the thing tho. I don't think it has "flaws" per say. It's not a bad movie. It does stuff really wellb but it just doesn't work for me. It's well directed the performances are fine and it's tense as hell in certain moments but I just didn't respond to a lot of it. And I'm sure that's happened to me before but I can't remember a recent example. In a theater and realizing everything is done well technically and academically but not having the response to it emotionally that I'm having mentally. It was a really weird experience

I only go to the movies a few times a year.

I personally am not a movie head, but I saw the previews for this when I saw, "10 Cloverfield Lane". And it piqued my attention, so for months I've been waiting for this movie. And then seein the initial reviews/ratings I was even more excited.

But the actual film failed to deliver for me. Within 5 mins of them being in the house, I thought the over-emphasis of the breathing sounds was kinda cheesy. But overall the 1st half was fine, the back half went downhill quick. I thought the dog was more powerful than Cujo.

And how's this BLIND guy walkin in the middle of a street dragging a girl? How does he find his house?

I tried to suspend belief but some of the stuff was too much
