I didn't have the patience to sit through this. I skimmed through.
Dre absolutely killed Marissa. If you can't see that, then you should just stick to 50 Cent shows on Starz where the characters explain everything to you.
But on the other hand, the blurring of fantasy and reality can be dope as long as you don't go overboard.
At some point, the viewer gets fatigued and stops caring altogether.

Peele and Glover are trying too hard at this point.
The purpose of film and TV is to tell a story. There are a ton of ways to do it.
But your focus should always be telling a story properly.
Donald's love of (showing) penis was an issue.
My last small gripe is that some of the dialogue was really stiff.

Kudos to Dominique Fishback for her tremendous performance.
I thought Kiersey Clemons did an amazing job. That last monologue of hers was *chef's kiss*
Chloe's body :noah:was almost distracting because they put it on full display every time she was on screen.
I wonder if they had her gain weight to maximize her thickness because her face was damn near chubby in some scenes.

Overall, Glover and Co. are gonna have to trim the fat if they want to keep winning.
Stuff like this aint gonna cut it.

I don’t think you can draw the conclusion she killed her sis, but I’d love to hear your theory

I think it’s safe to say DG style is stand alone episodes that tells a full story, he laces real life events in them, and roots them in black issues
Yup.

Show is very much an Atlanta abstract extended episode and more confirmation that Donald and his team can write/direct with their own style that’s distinctive enough for us to recognize that it’s them.

Right now Donald and company are giving us Jordan Peele vibes but in a TV series dosage with out serving up the typical shyt we’ve been consuming from the Power Universe — or the “take your audience for granted” shyt that you get from Tyler Perry.

So Swarm might feel fresh for a non Atlanta fan but this shyt feels like Atlanta x Get Out with a hint of Insecure with a super sloppy Dexter as the lead. She’s more Andrew Cunnanan than Dexter, however — but with more of a nuttier “motive”. In a rational world she can’t getaway with a fraction of what we’re seeing but it’s entertainment after all.

I wanted a little more out of the show and the “This Is Not A Work of Fiction” trope gets old a couple of episodes into it.

Still, this show buys Donald and the crew more bandwidth of write/create and stay from in front of the camera. But I wanna see better scripts instead of relying on good pacing and a very good attention to the tiny details (which I like)
When y’all say these things, like what more are you looking for ?

I’m glad shows like these exist because it gives a lane for studios to try something different, you got so many studios scared to catch a brick they will reheat old shyt or remix shyt to feed to the masses

I appreciate DG style

This show is a really great commentary on toxic stan culture online but I see the message of the show overall is to be weird in general like twilight zone

Its a shame that a show like this could only be made about black culture when I see this type of toxic super online stan culture across every group of people. It should be about worshipping celebrities but the hook is that this is obviously about a Beyonce stan who probably did something insane online

The main character is legit supposed to be a terrible person but the same culture that they are trying to mock and demean will prop up MC as an icon. Just because of the actress they cast and the look they gave her she is gonna inspire vs being a cautionary tale

He just told you. So did I.
Better scripts.
More focus on storytelling and less on being abstract for the sake of it.

I meant details ok better script How, like any particular scene or dialogue??

What more from the story would you want, it felt like a stretch to get 7 episodes
Wanting an artist to wander away from their style of writing/show would kill what you like about them, to me

Look like the eyes of regular ol cave bytch to me.

She is Miley Cyrus with 99.9% less talent but 1 billion percent more funding.
