I didn't have the patience to sit through this. I skimmed through.
Dre absolutely killed Marissa. If you can't see that, then you should just stick to 50 Cent shows on Starz where the characters explain everything to you.
But on the other hand, the blurring of fantasy and reality can be dope as long as you don't go overboard.
At some point, the viewer gets fatigued and stops caring altogether.

Peele and Glover are trying too hard at this point.
The purpose of film and TV is to tell a story. There are a ton of ways to do it.
But your focus should always be telling a story properly.
Donald's love of (showing) penis was an issue.
My last small gripe is that some of the dialogue was really stiff.

Kudos to Dominique Fishback for her tremendous performance.
I thought Kiersey Clemons did an amazing job. That last monologue of hers was *chef's kiss*
Chloe's body :noah:was almost distracting because they put it on full display every time she was on screen.
I wonder if they had her gain weight to maximize her thickness because her face was damn near chubby in some scenes.

Overall, Glover and Co. are gonna have to trim the fat if they want to keep winning.
Stuff like this aint gonna cut it.

She does blame him because she was going to move out and live with him. She tried to tempt her to stay with the Ni’jaa concert tix and Marissa snapped and said f them tix when they’re struggling.

How was Marissa left stranded by Khalid but Marissa was able to make it home and Marissa’s Jeep was parked outside.
Marissa and Dre had codependency issues. Marissa found out that Khalid was actually a cheater like Dre said. Dre went out clubbing to celebrate Nijaa festival release and was ignoring anything and anyone that was not relevant to Nijaa. Marissa was emotional and was probably saying anything to get Dre to snap out of her trance and come home to comfort her. When Marissa realized she was being ignored she made a permanent decision for a momentary situation. Both young ladies were emotionally unstable.

Im so lost on the ending of the last ep
Episode 6 detective Greene said they had arrested Dre in Atlanta for jumping on stage during the concert. Dre had completely lost sense of reality and that's why when Nijah walked up to her on the stage Marissas face was merged with Nijahs. That whole Nijah letting Dre speak to the crowd was all in her head. When they were walking to Nijahs limo it was really Dre being escorted into the police car.

Got'cha. I missed/overlooked that part in ep 6, makes sense now

I suspended belief and let it ride. I saw it as an realistic anime/Atlanta universe troupe. I was looking for Paper Boi Easter Eggs honestly. Im not saying the show was a masterpiece, bit it was pretty damn good, and I judge shows harshly. My only issue with shows get artsy is that I dont wanna be left with my conclusions. That what visual art is for. A show, movie, theatre needs to have a solid conclusion. Leaving it up to the viewer is a cowards way out. And this is why Artists all beef with writers.....they are kinda pretentious.

Yup.

Show is very much an Atlanta abstract extended episode and more confirmation that Donald and his team can write/direct with their own style that’s distinctive enough for us to recognize that it’s them.

Right now Donald and company are giving us Jordan Peele vibes but in a TV series dosage with out serving up the typical shyt we’ve been consuming from the Power Universe — or the “take your audience for granted” shyt that you get from Tyler Perry.

So Swarm might feel fresh for a non Atlanta fan but this shyt feels like Atlanta x Get Out with a hint of Insecure with a super sloppy Dexter as the lead. She’s more Andrew Cunnanan than Dexter, however — but with more of a nuttier “motive”. In a rational world she can’t getaway with a fraction of what we’re seeing but it’s entertainment after all.

I wanted a little more out of the show and the “This Is Not A Work of Fiction” trope gets old a couple of episodes into it.

Still, this show buys Donald and the crew more bandwidth of write/create and stay from in front of the camera. But I wanna see better scripts instead of relying on good pacing and a very good attention to the tiny details (which I like)

I justvwanted a clear ending. Im tired of thinking up the endings lol...thats what literature does, which is why I hate reading novels. Its a solid show no doubt. Im doing my 3rd rewatch.

For the Dre killed Marissa crowd, how would have that gotten pass the medical facility Dre took Marissa to? Also her parents had money, if there was any doubt I'm sure they would have had an autopsy done. Also weren't we shown Marissa had previously tried to take her life?

IMO the real Marissa clearly killed herself which set the real Dre off. The dramatization was meant to imply an alternate scenario as if she was a master criminal who could bypass an autopsy and logic.
