I grew up on onyx, lost boyz, ll, nas, Jay z, das efx, de la soul, dip set, wu tang, bad boy, heavy d and countless others but the narrative of a (one) NY sound is constantly pushed online, I really don't get it at all. I know a lot of people on this site phish for daps but I still find the statement to be totally ignorant (especially considering that it was created/made popular by NYers). Started looking for new music and was digging that Envy Cain dude. I actually thought that this thread would be a cool start so I gotta.do some research.
