Different continuity from the cartoons breh. This is based on the new 52 continuity where Cyborg is a member of the league. The cartoon is based on years and years of comic arcs, reinterpreted for that time with the writers taking their own creative liberties. Using John was one of those liberties
Good movie. But I agree with alot of posters not liking the anime style. Only because it was weird seeing Wonder Woman with those sideburns shyts hanging
