we still got "Atlanta" :yeshrug:.

That shyt aint even ours brehs....An integral part of that show is a black woman taking care of a broke ass nikka who can't/won't do better for himself.

Nearly every episode of involves some type of argument pitting black men against black women...... that is a vital element of many of these shows. They don't generate discussion because of how well they're written... they get it because of the arguments that take place because of it.

My issue is that many of this new wave of black creatives are intentionally launching incendiary ass content out there....with straight black men being cannon fodder for "thinkpieces".

Or being seen as a open floor to voice your displeasure about black men

they know EXACTLY what they're doing, and we enable them with many of the posts in this thread.

Atlanta does happen to be one of the few shows we have that portrays us in a "regular" capacity though. I aint mad at that.

She's also developing a drama centered about a black nuclear family for HBO. And another drama about affluent black teens in a wealthy area of LA. She just pitched a black sci fi show as well.

It isn't like every single show she's involved in is shoehorning gay black men in. She just seems to want to tell as many different stories as possible. I don't see the issue here.

Everybody skip over this..

Here is the thing, she's literally taking the white things she enjoyed watching as a teen.... that she probably got shamed for while she was searching for her "blackness", and then remaking the "black version" of them.

She aint trying to make a Baldwin Hills/View Park/Windsor Hills/Ladera Heights....she literally wants to make a 90210 with black people...and no, they're not the same thing

If you are not a gay, bisexual or bicurious man then obviously the show was not made for you so this is none of your business. Why complain about a show that other people want to watch? Just dont watch.

yeah those areas do have affluent blacks but don't get it twisted. The negros that have 90210 money live in that area code already
