How to support and promote a lifestyle in which you are deceiving the opposite sex and threatening their lives with STD's.
bruh. how many articles have Ebony, Essence, MadamNoire written about this?
now they're making TV shows promoting it.

When I first heard HBO was developing Black male dating I was hoping for something for a series similar to "that guy" . That Travon dude that's writing and executive producing is bisexual himself and writer and co-executive producer for the other show Issa is developing is a writer for Scandal. So you already know what they going pushing to the forefront.
That Guy is a great webseries. Funny as hell and relatable as a black man. The good news is on YouTube there is plenty webseries that show straight black men. So I checks those out not this one.
I see nothing wrong with the show If you ain't gay don't watch it
if you don't know we have gay people in our black community that find it hard to come out due to families and friends.
These kind of show will help them alot and less hiv in black community why do you all think we are high in the chart anyway this will be a good show.
Yup. I've been thinking about this of late... homosexuality and specifically gay black men and their place in our society. Growing up we were exposed to one archetype of gay men, the effeminate fakkit, and we're led to believe that fakkitry was a function of sexual orientation and that was all a gay man could be. Result: in our manifest disdain for fakkits and fakkitry we unwittingly alienate good and valuable brothas who are also gay. Even I as someone who in principle never held any strong or even mild opposition against homosexuality, nevertheless had misgivings about gay men (still do to an extent). As I matured I realised that indeed it was not the sexual orientation but the devaluing of masculinity ie fakkitry that bothered me.I ride hard for straight dudes cause I know the mainstream white media wants to pain y'all in a negative light. All this is part of their divide and conquer tactic...I get this might not be the show for you, just don't watch. I def won't be watching because I know it's not coming from a genuine place. Nothing nuanced or realistic when it comes to black gay men. Always about sex, dating or overtly effeminate behavior. What about the regular everyday brutha (like me) that just happens to be gay. Is working on his tech podcast and is a black nationalist. That's a story that's never been told
I'm not even one of these "hate gays and fakkits" guys. I'm fairly progressive on the issue, but who is the market for this show?
Did you really just say that HIV rates in the black community can be lowered by a TV show on HBO?
Look at the HIV numbers from gay black men in most major cities. Why do they want us to accept gays so bad?
The promotion of homosexuality to blacks in the media is not “out of the ordinary”. We’re arguing that showing healthy black families in media/entertainment has become out of the ordinary because that’s not what society wants to promote.I've been avoiding this thread for a few days because I know where it was headed just don't watch the show, but also remember when everybody here was shytting on black-ish before they saw a single episode and ended up loving it. We are always talking about blacks are not monolith but as soon as something out of ordinary comes out we're getting outraged

People like you getting all in your feelings being emotional because people are critical is what stifles intelligent discussion/debate.
