Now I just want to watch everyone of those 90s Godzilla remakes:steviej:, the kid in me could only dream of a movie like this but with the green ranger as the main hero

Saw this two days ago and I thought it was good. My only gripe with the film is that it's a bit too long for my liking.

When they chopped off that monster's tail and it flipped out its wings :wow:

I liked it but didn't love it. The best parts to me were the Hong Kong fight scene and the backstory of Idris Elba and the Japanese chick. Felt the other Jaegers besides Striker Eureka and Gipsy Danger were grossly underused. I did love how they didn't hold back on the ridiculousness of the premise with Dinosaurs being ancient Kaiju and Ron Pearlman as some crazy Kaiju parts dealer.

Charlie Hunnam was awful btw, the Japanese chick was completely struggle acting her English lines and still acted circles around him. Admittedly all the lines were grotesque clichés but Idris Elba had no problem making them work, which says all the more about how unimpressive Hunnam was. He can go join Taylor Kitsch and Sam Worthington in the "never should've tried to make them stars" club.

just hit me: while I was watching the movie, all I could think was 'why is idris in thor? he'd be the perfect black panther'....like others have mentioned, the way he commends the screen is exactly what the actor that plays bp needs to do, especially since he is gonna have to share the screen with other good actors...I know he's older, but they could get at least a couple movies (1 solo, 1 team-up, guest spots in others) outta him before they passed the role to another...

What separates Charlie from those other guys is he's had a hit TV show going for the past 6 years. Those other guys have been damn near forgotten. I just hate the way they constantly have Idris and Charlie speaking without their regular accents.

I always think of his character in Undeclared - the theater major. I keep thinking it's his bummy ass that's getting these roles and it annoys the shyt out of me.
