I literally just said this. Russia literally sat there while the US expanded NATO all the way to their border over 30 years and now they finally respond and people are regurgitating American propaganda “Russia wants to bring back the Soviet Union”
This is a lie, Russia offered to join NATO with an expedited process and pulled the offer when they were told they'd have to go through the process like any other country.This is stupid on so many levels

NATO only existed as an adversary to the Soviet Union. Once the Soviet Union disbanded there was/is no purpose of the NATO. The US and Russia agreed to not bring back the Soviet Union and the US would not expand NATO further eastward towards Russia. They did it anyway.

All of the Baltic snd North Sea states are in NATO already. NATO/EU Membership for Ukraine is the issue because of WHO Ukraine is, not because of NATO expansion.

NATOs entire existence was to counteract Russias influence in Europe so why would Russia have to “apply” to join NATO? The US installed zelensky in 2014 as president during the Ukrainian coup. Not to mention the weapon sales and training of Ukrainian nazi militias. Russia has been calling out the US involvement in the Ukraine for years before they finally had enough and invaded.

Russia annexed part of crimea as a direct result of us-backed coup in the Ukraine. The parts of the crimes that were annexed are ethnically Russian.
NATO expanded to all of these countries AFTER the Soviet Union fell. This is about expanding the western/white global hegemony.
