aside from the top ones every frannchise goes through that some alot worse

If u want to play that game when u made the playoffs in 2006 you made it 3 in 7 years at that point which is pretty good with a world series appereance and while you didnt make it in 07 or 08 u were in it till the final day of the season

To compare yourselves to teams that havent been 500 in 20 years is typical woe is met fan bs

not its not fakkit. this franchise has been around since 1962, they've made the playoffs 7 times...

50/7= once every 7+ years, that's fukkin awful. especially when you factor in our location, revenue and payrolls.

Its too early to kill the gm yet and say he has no plan,he walked into a shytshow where he was gonna be hamstrung on mkaing moves or signings till next offseason with the bad contracts he inherited

What he does this and next offseason will detrmine his plan and if he has won and what he does with all the freed up money and with Wright/Ike/Ra etc

The reason I say this is because this team hasn't done anything to improve this team short term or long term. We could have resigned Reyes in December - Feb 2011 for a bargain, yet we didn't and instead chose to not only pass on trading him but not even offering him a deal last year.

This organization has said that they're committed to winning, yet they have reports out that Ike may be traded or dikkey may be traded. Also, we did backwards moves like trading a starting outfielder(Pagan) for a reliever and 5th outfielder. Not only that, they made no attempts to improving the pen while we were still in it last year.

Also, they claim at times that we're rebuilding, yet they shown no efforts of that(sans Wheeler trade). Look at teams like the Phillies; Red Sox, and the Cubs. They basically said to their fans "hey we suck, but we're going to move some of our vets to get better in the future". Meanwhile the Mets hold on to guys like Chris Young; Hairston, Brydak, etc whom had no future w/ this team for no reason, despite the fact that teams were interested in their services.

Not only the Mets do not trade vets who have no future w/ the club, they don't even spend money in the draft. Instead they go after low ceiling prospects. We have no young bats, yet we didn't make an effort to go get 19yr. old Jorge Soler. This team is a joke.

we've made the playoffs once in 10 years. go down every division, our success rate is about the same as the pathetic franchises. We've made it one more time than the Pirates and Royals.

It's not even the lack of post-season appearances, it's the fact that this team shows no effort to win in the short-term or long term, while doing asinine moves along the way.

Why don't you respond to this ?

Are Royals and Pirates fans embarrassed off the field year in and year out ?

Did they have an owner go broke in the biggest ponzi schme in history ?

Or have a GM accuse a beat writer of lobbying for a job ?

Or have an assistant GM challenge AA players to a fist fight ?

Or have that same assistant GM call out players for being soft only for those players a week later be put on the DL for the rest of the season ?

Or have an owner publicly bad mouth his best players ?

Do the Royals and Pirates play in the biggest market in the world and are operated like a minor league team ?

Even the Pirates and Royals would trade away their best players and get something back for them. At least they have been spending in the draft.

Do Royas and Pirates fans have some of the most expensive seating in Baseball ?

Do the Royals and Pirates share a city with not only the most successful team in the Baseball but arguably all of N.American sports ?

And the last time the Royals won a WS was in 1985 a year before us. And since the Pirates last playoff appearance in 92 the Mets have made the playoffs a whopping 3 times since. Yeah we're really taking our success for granted

Sandy Alderson has gone for higher ceiling players i.e. Nimmo where Omar went the intrenational/latin route and he failed miserably because its hard to project raw 16 year olds

They went for signability this last draft. And outside of the Nimmo and Fulmer picks of 2011 it was the typical cheap NY Mets draft.

This draft if you paid attention the comissioner told everyone they couldnt overlsot so EVERYONE went signability

Btw Nimmo is a raw hard to project 18 year old.

Btw Courtney Hawkins was sbtill on the board when the mets picked but they went the signability route and drafted the next David Eckstein.

BTW Hawkins was picked as the top prospect in the Sally league last week by baseball america I believe. Don't worry tho David Eckstein Jr was in the top 20 projected as average across the board. Ho

no i responded to the on field shyt why would you concern yourself with off the field tabloid shyt?

Yeah you're right I should be happy I cheer for a team that is slighty better than the Royals and Pirates and front office that invokes such confidence that it can develop a winning franchise when they allow a circus to go on off the field while on the field it gets worse and worse.
