Distances of each planet from Earth are:-

Mercury - 48 million miles,

Venus - 261 millions km,

Mars-54.6 million kilometers,

Jupiter - 588 million kilometers

Saturn - 1. 2 billion km,

Uranus - 2.7 billion miles,

Neptune - 2.7 billion miles.

Good luck on your journey :salute:

now divide those distances by 20,000 mph. It would take you about 3 years to get to Jupiter. It took Voyager 2 12 years to reach Neptune.

If you're driving a car yes. But if you have a portal machine that bends time and space to bring you closer to that planet, then you can just have a ship that's fitted with a "boom tube" and be there shortly.
I don’t think that would be a good idea :patrice:

Human travel, not probes that use gravity as a slingshot

We're not going anywhere anytime soon :manny:

Shuttles when in service traveled 17,500 miles per hour in LEO. You know the ones that humans pilot? The only reason we're not going anywhere is the life commitment it would take to undertake the endeavor. You can go to mars, but you ain't coming back, and there is no logical reason to visit any of the gas giants. It's nothing to see.

:comeon:

They’ve discovered multiple systems with “Goldie Locks” zones. If you think we’re alone out here or even on this planet when all ancient writings talk about beings from “heaven” then continue to be obtuse.

Our development as a species on this planet, to be farther along than any other creature evolutionarily speaking, obviously had outside influence.

Basically a suicide mission, if they can get there in one piece with all the radiation they will encounter along the way.

Yep. I think we'll get to a point where someone will sign up to do it, just to etch their name in history, but as far as being able to reach a hospitable planet? We're at least a 2-300 hundred years out.

Kinda puts things into perspective about how close all these celestial bodies are, they are huge (pause) which makes them seem much closer than they really are.

Stuff like this makes everything seem so small. Like, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE we know, and have EVER known, is right here on this one planet...spooky man

We've barely explored the planet's in our own solar system.

Imagine what would happen if the world's governments were spending money on technology and solar system exploration instead of bullshyt like subsidies for polluting industries+wars to feed those industries. :wow:
