There's going to be serious backlash if Affleck's Batman solo film isn't dark. But, Affleck is a very serious actor and director, I don't see himself allowing a Batman solo film that isn't dark. Affleck was a big fan of Nolan's Batman films. So hopefully Affleck will keep the solo Batman movie tone serious.

This is the man who had a huge hand in giving us green lantern,one of the worst comic book films of all time.

I am a Geoff Johns fan so his involvement in the script and tone for these upcoming movies doesn't bother me and I am not worried about the DC movies going too far in the jokey light-hearted direction because Johns is capable of straddling the line between bright and sunny and dark and grim pretty well.

Batman is dark .. Superman is light... the hope and optimism must come from the characters perspective.. not some forced tone the studios think we wanna see...
