First visited Amsterdam 14yrs ago and been biking around new york ever since when I can. My avi is a pic I took while biking. I currently bike my 6 yr old to school. Would be a 15 min walk, but cut down to a 4-5 min bike ride and she saves energy for school. She about to hit the weight limit for the bike seat, so this'll prolly be her last year on it. Traffic be backed up with cars heading to the school for about 2- 3 blocks in each direction.
Though I grew up in NYC, I can say I never truly appreciated walkable cities and public transportation until visiting to Europe.
