They must be going bankrupt.

Why should this even be a problem? Don’t they make most of their money from viewers ad revenue anyway?

Netflix the only streaming service doing this shyt and they cost the most. I’ll stick to Amazon Prime at least it’s $70 yearly and I get free shipping.
Amazon Prime is $140 bucks a year fam unless you got some special type of discount or hook up

I don't understand selling people a certain amount of simultaneous streams and being this picky about where they use them.

Like if you want 4k, you get 4 simultaneous streams but you can't use them outside your home network under these new rules. Who do you know got 4 4k streams going on in their home.

Netflix just isn't good enough to do this. I think they should just do ad based past 30 days outside of the home network and call it a day.

This means I have to buy another Roku so I can rotate them at my parents house every month. What a hassle.

Netflix has reached saturation in the US. Damn near everyone in the country who wants Netflix has access to it via a direct subscription or using someone else's credentials. In order to continue to grow the business they need more revenue from new subscribers.

Netflix is also the only one I know of that ties 4K to the highest subscription tier when 4K TVs are standard now in stores. It's bullshyt.

how's it entitled? if you got a subscriber paying for 5 profiles, the fukk does it matter if it's a person logging in in another house or someone in your own? the reality is neither of the other users planned to pay for that shyt. it's way too many streamers now + less standout content on netflix to think they're going to get any sizable chunk of people to pay.

in fact, i'd like to see the age distribution of netflix subscribers. i assume those paying for accounts are mainly 25-55. people who got their old ass 60+ parents on the account, they aint gonna get their own netflix when they're happy with cable and daytime TV. people 45 and under know how to pirate, and the 25 and under on TikTok and YouTube...like who the fukk is firing up a new subscription in this equation? and how many more people will they see start to rotate netflix with their other subscriptions?
I think it's that before they couldn't control those 5 profiles. Those 5 profiles were being used by 20 people in 15 locations. Either way they were losing money.

They won't lose that many subscribers, because most people simply forget to cancel when they're supposed to...but I think they'll run into problem when they freeze/lock accounts, cause most won't sign up again.

i mean they're doing this more to gain subscribers, not losing subscribers is a neutral outcome. i just don't see this making and measurable impact in increasing the number of people paying
