Netflix's new password-sharing rule: Every 31 days your device must log in on your home network — or it will be blocked.

They do care about viewership #'s...that's one of the measurements for competing w/ the other streaming services. Less shared accounts = lowered viewership #'s.

In the end, they're just trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of ppl, getting their customers right to the brink of cancelling the service. They want to see how much they can squeeze without causing cancelations en mass.

I have someone's log in, and netflix is the service that I watch the least, there's nothing currently on there that I care to watch. Squid games and stranger things aren't that dope to me, so if I have to lose the ability to stream netflix I won't care...plus my girl won't be able to watch all that dating show trash
@Whips-n-Chains what about Cobra Kai? Do you watch that?

not saying i'm the majority, but there are folks like me who signed up when netflix was hot in 2012-2016, and only kept it because of the family members who use netflix regularly. i'm happy to turn this shyt off and re-subscribe for a month when stranger things comes back

Or just get a plex share

And yeah I pay for netflix and like 5 people use my account, now I'll just cancel as I never even use it

I feel like Apple does this with their service. Every time I load it up on my TV it's asking my to log in. It's my mom's account so she always be forgetting the pin or password.

Well this gonna be fun to see play out. I get the point of it but it’s as if they think the people who have been using other peoples passwords are gonna just decide to set up their own account (I’m sure some will while a majority won’t) They will definitely see a decline in their viewership numbers. I’m not mad at them cause other streamers have similar protections but they really should have done this like 2 years ago before they had so much competition cause where at one point I probably felt like I couldn’t do without Netflix, now there really isn’t much keeping me around. I guess we’ll see what happens
