They were always going to do it. It was a sure-fire way to maximize profits. Those who really do feel they need it will just get their own. It happened with every other service. Hell, remember when Office came with discs, and you could use it over multiple devices. And they stopped it just to stop it, and gave tier packs.

Hell, next up is data cap tiers.
Exactly... Because what are you going to do? Not have TV? Internet? Food? Gas? These things are becoming necessities in the meaning of, people can't live without them, even though you actually could. Nobody is going through that sacrificed living and tech companies know it. They get you hooked, then slowly raise prices as they remove features. And we keep right along paying.

Only reason Xfinity doesn't have data caps is the pandemic. The damn Senate had to get them to postpone it. It'll be back and everyone will pay and then they'll keep on raising those prices anyway. Same old story

Theres 5 people that I know of that have my Netflix password.
No idea how many others got it.
Netflix will never get every single different user to pay their own way.
That's the thing.. They don't have to. As long as YOU don't cancel, they never lost anything from your 5 people.. And however many people in their house using it. And who they might have told. Cause none of them people was paying a dime anyway but using up their services..

They are telling you, fukk them people. And really all they need is just one of those people to say "Fine, I'll get my own" and they've actually doubled their shyt up based off this move. What if 3 of them sign up? Unless you're splitting the pot with someone, I doubt they actually lose any subscribers. I bet they find they'll gain numbers, which is why this "test" is just letting you know it's coming

How do they know people don’t live in the same household?
IP address.. All that will happen is they'll make two factor mandatory on devices outside your home IP. So unless you want everyone who has your password to be asking for your code each time they login, you'll probably go ahead and shut that down

Last thing I watched was Earthquake special. Before that I went months without logging on to Netflix.

HBO holds me down and has held me down since I was a kid. :yeshrug:

So would this make watching Netflix while using a VPN to be another country impossible?

MFA would be a lil much for a Netflix account. I don’t see that happening… Basically you would have to compromise the security of your device/network just to use VPN……They would have to make MFA account based exclusively

They raised the price from 7.99 to 19.99 in ten years, that's more than double the initial price, so I think that should cover the shared accounts :yeshrug:
