But they want it for Sunday afternoon games, not nationally televised games. Read the article.

Sunday afternoon games are subject to the same rules when teams from a local market are involved.

That little "article" gives no indication that that would change.

As a matter of fact, that "article" isn't even based in any facts, it's just Florio speculating.

Florio mentioned, the workaround is Netflix getting everything and subletting to broadcast networks

NFL is just driving up their prices through bidding wars. Who knows how much bread they made off that Beyonce Bowl

By 2029 netflix should have all the kinks worked out when it comes to broadcasting live sports. Local games willl stay on local TV. Something like this happening is inevitable

Florio gets it

Watching this and Florio’s theory makes sense, but even more so for Apple than Netflix imo. Apple’s MLS while not a success, is a test for them to have broadcasting rights for almost all the inventory for a bigger sports league like the NFL. I can totally see Apple buying up all the Sunday games (sans SNF) and getting Sunday Ticket and selling the local rights to whichever OTA channels want it.
