Give him his money
Nikkas talked about his rapping but Master P practiced and preached black ownership to the fullest
Them crackas tried to get him in the same type of bullshyt contract they got Dave and countless other starving artists in and he outsmarted them
P finessed a record deal that will never again be duplicated
The situation is crazy if you think about it. When you're that young professional needing to get paid, you take these crazy deals, because you need the money. You don't know if you'll be successful or not, so you can't negotiate a better deal. If you don't take the deal, you starve. But if you take the deal and become successful, you won't make the "big" money because of the contract. So, either you take the contract or you don't. If you don't, you won't have the TV show. Without the TV show, you might not become successful and famous. But if you take the show, you'll sign away future profit. So, what should you do?
I don’t know if this boycott will do anything. Most people are not going to care about a rich person making even more money
This is like Le’Veon bell asking his fans not to watch the Steelers while he was sitting out.
but Dave is way more influential so
You missed the part where he asks people not to watch Chappelle Show
Hopefully that happens, but how many music artists with shytty contracts get out of them after becoming famous and complaining about it? This will ultimately be decided on whether CC and Viacom can be financially hurt enough to discuss anything about the particulars of Dave's contract.Yeah this is true. But that’s the wild thing about contracts. If he doesn’t sign he likely doesn’t blow up. But now he can use his power to force them to come back to the negotiating table.
Good lawyers interpretJust save the money up for a competent and highly recommended lawyer. It’s nearly impossible to understand that shyt
What system? Again business is not fair or moral, it is business. We always hear about the people complaining after the fact about their contracts, but never about the people who say no to contracts they feel is unfair. He did not have to sign the contract; he could of pitched it to somewhere else or did more shows/specials/movies until he had more negotiating power or something else. No one forced him to sign and that is that.I think Chappelle and most people on TheColi knows how contracts work Breh...
His point is the system is fukked up. His situation is a product of that system.
"Take it how they want, a closed mouth don't get fed." -
He is who he is today, because of that show. Before that, he was best known for
I ain't saying he gotta be grateful, but you take what you can and you build on it. Contracts are a part of business.
That said, I love to hear Dave tell stories. He's extremely captivating.
Of course they did. They had leverage over someone wanting them to use their resources to create a show which possibly could of failed (a lot of shows do) and have no skin in the game when it came to recouping lost money. People keep talking about "system" this and "system" that when it comes to music/t.v. business, but it is a system that you have to take part in to get fukked.Cacs been fukking us over for years. fukk all that contract shyt, they knew what they was doing
You are right, i can not know if his contract was proper or not but he should of before he signed it.This stupid shyt here
Since the existence of contracts there have been instances where some contracts were illegally constructed, etc. And things got resolved in court.
U posted like u seen his contract and know for sure shyt like his shyt was proper
EDIT: A heavy, heavy gem was dropped about Bernie Mac.
